Knowing that half of my family was gone was a horrible feeling. I knew my dad was still alive but I knew he didn't care about any of us anymore.
I don't understand why this had happen to me and my family. What did we do wrong ?
That night we showed mom where we were staying and she was very impressed.
"Wow girls it's great !" Mom said.
"We can gather some Palm tree branches for you to sleep on" Kathryn and I said.
I knew we needed to be rescued and quickly because I didn't know how much longer we could last.
Before we went to bed we decided we needed to think of an escape/rescue plan.
"What if we took a bunch of rocks, sticks and other stuff and spelt out S.O.S.?"
"That's a great idea Kaitlyn" My mom said.
"Ok we start tomorrow!"
And after that we all drifted off to sleep.
