When Klaus woke up, he didn't expect today to be bad. He expected this day to be one of the best. It was the day of Klaus' 17th birthday. As he walked into the dining room, he saw all the maids and servants setting out a meal for him. When he sat down at the table, he was face-to-face with his favourite breakfast. There was eggs benedict with bacon, cooked, but not crisp. In a separate bowl, there was fresh melon dipped in chocolate with a vase of lavender in the center of the table.

"Good morning everyone." Klaus said. They all replied with a "happy birthday". He thanked everyone. Klaus was known for being overly polite at school. He tried to be friends with everyone and was never mad at anyone. He was a fairly well student with a great reputation. He had great friends, and a wonderful family. Or so he thought.

"Klaus... I have something important to tell you." Bartholomule said as Klaus started to eat. Klaus looked at Bartholomule with a puzzled look. The maids and servants started to flee, but Bartholomule stared down at Klaus. When everyone was gone, Bartholomule started to talk again. "Well... when you were born... we all hid something from you". With Klaus still looking puzzled, he looked at Bartholomule with the strangest look. "well... You see..." Klaus could see that Bartholomule was struggling to tell him something. "Klaus... You have a twin sister who you have never met." Klaus started to giggle like a little boy. He couldn't help it, it was too funny to believe. He stared up at Bartholomule who seamed as serious as ever. "Wait" Klaus said "You're not kidding? I have a twin sister? How have I lived my life without knowing this?"

"We've all had to keep it a secret."
        "Why?"
"For generations, your ancestors thought that girls were a symbol of failure as boys are shown with power and usually take the heir of family businesses."

"But... but... THAT'S BULLSHIT!!!!! I have a sister that my family has probably thrown away all because they think she can't have power. MY LIFE IS A LIE!!!!"

Klaus was furious. He wanted to strangle his parents until they realised what they have done. Never in his life, had he wanted to kill anyone so badly. "Master, please, you will get to visit her today. She lives in the attic by herself." Klaus started to calm down but then realised something. "Great, instead of giving her to a family who would accept her, YOU PUT HER INTO SOLITARY CONFINEMENT!?!?!"

"I know it's hard to piece together but you need to calm down. When you meet her, you can't scare her like this. I see her once a year to make sure she's doing alright. We bring her food through the dumbwaiter." Bartholomule explained with a stern look across his face.

When Klaus was finished with breakfast, he ran up the stairs leading to the attic. He could hear voices up the in the attic. Bartholomule came up behind him and put a hand on his shoulder. Klaus was tearing up. "How? How could my parents allow this? I thought they were loving. I thought I could trust them." Klaus wiped the tears rolling down his cheeks. He was ready. Ready to give his sister the love she was never given the chance to have. He walked down a hall, and knocked on the door. Not knowing what to expect. All with Bartholomule behind him.
