Torn apart, brought together

The door swung open as a slim figure appeared in the doorway, almost blocking the entrance. All Klaus could do was stare. She was gorgeous. The fact that this was his sister who he had never met, just left him in aw. Then it hit him. Tears began to form in his eyes, his hands were shaking, and his lip was quivering. He ran to her and held her tight, never wanting to let go. It was silent, except for the tears of klaus dropping onto the floor.

"I'm sorry. I'm sorry I wasn't able to be there for you growing up. Especially when you needed it the most." Klaus' tears were stinging his eyes, but he couldn't help it. She released herself from his grasp, giving him a calm smile with slight fear in her eyes. Bartholomule interrupted the moment with a tongue of soothing words.

"Kiera, this is your twin brother, Klaus. I told him about you and he was eager to meet you." A tear rolled down Kiera's cheek, once it hit the ground, she lost it. She dropped to the floor with her hands and face buried in her skirt. She couldn't help it. She thought no one cared enough about her to want to meet her. Her whole life, all she had was Bartholomule, and now her brother who she knew nothing of.
Klaus walked over to her and picked her up bridal-style. He put her onto an old couch and sat across from her. It was silent, but Klaus didn't care, he just wanted to be with her. Kiera looked up at him with red, irritated eyes and spoke, breaking the silence.

"How have you been Klaus?"
"I've been alright, I've been going to school  for fine arts and have frankly enjoyed it."
"Oh, that's nice."
.....
"Happy birthday Kiera."
"What?"
"It's our 17th birthday, happy birthday!"
"Thank you, happy birthday too."
"Have you met mom Kiera?"
"Who?"
"Our mother"
"Oh, no, I don't think I ever had"
"Wait. You haven't meet your own mother?"
"Not that I know of."

Klaus stood up, looked around the room, and spotted a brush. He grabbed the brush and started to brush Kiera's hair. It was soft and silky and shined with a chestnut colour, much like Klaus' hair. "Klaus, what are you doing?" Kiera questioned as Klaus was fixing her bangs. "I'm brushing your hair. Mother will look at you with one glance and be ashamed that she never got to see you grow up." Klaus explained with passion. Kiera pulled him towards her and wrapped her arms around him. "Thank you, for such a wonderful birthday, the best I have ever had." Kiera said as tears were threatening her eyes.

Klaus pulled away, grabbed her hand, and started to walk towards the door. That's when they both realised something, Bartholomule wasn't there. They shrugged it off and before they left the attic, Klaus said words that he wanted to remember forever.

"Mother will regret what she did to you and I'll make sure of it. She burn in hell for abandoning her own little girl."
