Naruto

I led the stunning Hinata to where my car was parked, the whole time not being able to even look at her. If I wasn't madly in love with Sakura and was dating Hinata because of the bet, I wouldn't be too afraid to admit that Hinata made my heart flutter with just holding my hand and her appearance.

But too bad I was madly in love with Sakura and because of the bet.

I did notice, however, with every step we took Hinata would often get a little closer and closer to me. I let my eyes wandered around us and it didn't take them long to notice the students shooting us weird looks, some even whispering something to one another. I furrowed my brows, confused as to what they were doing.

"I-I'm sorry, Naruto-kun," Hinata suddenly said.

I looked at her, "What for?"

"They're looking at you weirdly because of me," she said, suddenly dropping my hand. "It's okay if you just want to drop all this date nonsense and pretend you never met me."

"How shallow do you think I am?" I asked, a little offended. She's not giving me any credit for at least trying to make this enjoyable. Plus, it just gives me more time to bond with her as a friend, too.

"I'm sorry, I-I didn't mean to -"

I sighed, "No, it's fine."

A sudden bubble of guilt stopped me. She just literally told me to drop her like that because of a few looks and hurtful words. I can't imagine what she'd think if she found out about the bet. I'm shallow... shallowest of the shallow.

But I'm doing it for her, if I were to think about it carefully. If I'm her 'boyfriend', I get to protect her without many asking why. That's it; I'm helping her by doing this.

I threw everyone around us a glare. They almost immediately ran away when I did. Only then, did I take Hinata's small hand again and continued walking without a care in the world. I opened the door to the passenger for her.

"T-thanks."

I smiled at her, "Don't mention it."

Hinata

I felt almost terrible for not giving Naruto the credit he deserved. He's a good person, there was no way he would've just ditched me. I can't believe I was so stupid and said something to offend him.

Stupid! Stupid!

But what's done is done. At least now I know that he's here at his own free will. I gave him the chance to run away but he didn't so I'm making some progress. We made it to the movie theater with just some small talk about classes, about the school and generally just enjoying the time together. He's not making anything awkward and he's trying to make whatever we have right now work out.

And I go and offend him by practically implying he's shallow. I'm such an idiot! I had to cover my face to hide my shame.

I was sitting at the tables close to the concessions stand while Naruto went to buy some food for himself and a large popcorn for us.

"Hey dude," someone whispered nearby. "Look at that girl."

I opened one eye.

"Damn, I know," his friend replied.

"I dare you," the first guy replied. "Go and ask for her number."

"I don't know, man. She's dressed up so she might be here with another guy."

"What? Chicken?"

I looked through the cracks of my hand, surprised to see the two guys not too far away from me. And their attention is on me?! What the hell is this?

"Fiiiine!"

The guy on the right, one with wavy blonde hair and green eyes, started strolling up to me a drink in hand. His whole demeanor screamed frat boy and his friend as well.

I looked up just as the guy drew closer. The moment we met eyes, he stopped suddenly in his tracks. His eyes widened and he slowly backed away.

"S-sorry I thought I left something here," he turned his back and quickly walked back to his friend.

"Dude no!" he murmured frantically grabbing his friend's arm. "Her eyes are so freaky! I think she might be some alien."

"Then let's not piss her off," his friend replied. "She might kill us all."

"I know, right?" and they disappeared around the corner.

I didn't cry, I didn't break down if that was what you were wondering. Hurt? Yeah maybe a little... or a lot. No matter how many times I hear it or live through it, it hurts. I'm not an alien, alright? It's just my family's unique trait or it was supposed to be a disease but it became genetic. If you googled aniridia, that's what I have; my sister, my father, my great-great grandmother, my cousin, everyone with the Hyuga name has it.

I guess it is bizarre but Naruto was the only one that thinks my eyes are beautiful.

"Hina - woah!" Naruto's voice suddenly stopped my thinking process and I finally refocused to the tiled floor.

No sooner did I return, a hand roughly lifted my chin so I'm facing his face. Naruto's blue eyes widened in sudden worry.

"Why are you crying? I'm sorry if I did anything to upset you!"

"Huh?" I lifted my hand and wiped my eyes once. I was almost surprised to feel the wetness of tears starting to form.

"No," I sniffed once, pushing his hand away as I dried my own eyes. "It's n-nothing."

His whole face frowned, "I don't believe you."

"I-I'm fine, Naruto-kun," I slid off the high chair and grabbed the hot dog along with the large drink sitting on the table. "We're already late for the movie. Let's go already."

"But Hinata -"

I gave him my best smile, "I'm fine, really. Let's just go enjoy the movie, alright?"

Naruto didn't look convinced. He slowly grabbed the large tub of popcorn but this whole time his eyes didn't leave my face. I had to turn and walk ahead so he could stop prying.

And that is exactly what he did for the entire movie and ride home.
