I walk downstairs with Chandler trying to find where this freshman chick is at. With a little bit of searching I find her alone, in Chandler's guest room downstairs on her phone drinking I'm guessing not alcohol in her cup.
"Hey." I say knocking and walking in slowly.
"Oh, uh hi." She said locking her screen and putting her phone down on the bed.
"Can I come in?" I politely ask even though I'm standing in the room already.
"Yeah." She says.
It was awkwardly silent for a little bit, but I broke the silence by asking, "So, how you liking the party?"
"Uh, it's pretty cool I guess. I'm not really a partier, so." She says shaking her head.
"Ah, I see. I'm the same way. Chandler throws parties all the time, so I'm forced to go."
"Oh, I'm sorry." She says.
"Nah, it's not your fault. Don't be sorry." I reassure her.
Then it was slightly silent again.
"Hey, uh. I'm sorry. If I creeped you out the other day, I just uh-"
"Don't worry, you didn't even slightly creep me out." I smile at her.
"YO BRO THERES A HUGE ASS FIGHT GOING ON OUTSIDE YOU NEED TO COME SEE." Chandler screams busting through the room.
"Who is it?" I ask.
Jackson, Blake and 3 other guys going at it.
"You're kidding right?" I say.
"No, but their pretty big so we may need to get in on it. Jackson and Blake can't hold I too much longer bro." Chandler says.
"Shit." I say.
"I'll be back. I promise." I tell her.
What even is her name?
"Here uh just call me or something. She writes it on a gum wrapper she had in her jacket pocket and a pen that was on the bed stand.
"Ok. I will, thank you." I say.
"Just don't hurt yourself." She says.
"Come on Nate." Chandler says.
"Coming." I reply.
I walk outside and it's like 45 degrees. Are these people insane? I push through the crowd of people and see 2 guys ganged up on Jackson while Blake is still beating in one guys face.
I jump in and take one of the guys off Jackson while Chandler throws the other guy off Jackson to let him get up.
Of course one other guy roars in, drunk as hell, but he won't be too hard to get down. First off, he's scrawny and second, he's drunk.
After like probably 10 blows and knocking 2 of 4 guys out and the other 2 tapping out. I'm left with a bruised cheekbone and jawbone, bloody nose, and a cut eyebrow.
Jackson and Blake sadly have it worse, both having a black eye, I'm pretty sure Jackson's jaw is broken, but I know for sure Blake's nose is broken.
Chandler, maybe a bruise on his cheek, but nothing too bad for him. He for sure has busted knuckles, but I'm pretty sure all of us do.
I walk into Chandler's house after the crowd and guys we just beat the crap out of left.
I walk into the bathroom and try to clean up the grass stains and blood. Then the freshman girl walks in.
"Hold on. Don't do that." She says.
I listen and wait.
She looks in one of the cabinets and grabs 2 soft cloths and hydrogen peroxide.
"I got it." She says and smiles.
She starts by using one of the cloths, and gets it wet. She gently cleans the cuts on my arms and hands and face.
This feels kind of nice, not the burning sensation part of it, but someone caring. Probably makes no sense but oh well.
"Oh my god." She says.
"What what's wrong?" I ask.
"You're shirt is ruined." She says.
"How?" I say.
"The back is all scraped open in places and it's basically shredded." She says concerned.
"Hold on." I say.
I take my shirt off and ask her to check for cuts on my back, as I feel pain, so there probably is some.
She cleans them and then comes the hydrogen peroxide process.
"I hope you didn't like this shirt." She says sarcastically.
I laugh and slightly tense up to try to ease the stinging pain, which doesn't help, but she's helping it by gently rubbing my back around where the cuts are.
Her hands are so soft.
"Hey, I know this is probably going to sound 'assholy' but what's your name? I know who you are but I can't remember your name." I say.
"I'm Mollie." She says looking up at me.
It's silent for a minute, then she looks back down on cleaning my cuts and scrapes.
"Turn around so I can get the back." She says smiling.
