A Week Later

Maya POV

Its been a week since Lucas and I told each other we loved each other. I'm on cloud 9. Maybe hope is not for suckers. We just finished out camping trip yesterday actually. Its was really fun.

Also Missy and I are some what close after I told her what happens. At first she looked at me like she was going to kill me but after I told her I understand she and I had a really sweet moment. I wouldn't say we are best friends but we are somewhat close like we talk. I guess being friends with Missy is better than being enemies with her. She is actually is really nice believe it or not. But enough about Missy tomorrow is my first day senior year and I can't wait! Did I just say I was excited for school? I been spending to much time with Riley. Also today is my birthday! I haven't seen a birthday text or call from my friends. If they were busy they would at least call or text me .I need to call the gang to find out why.

I text the gang to meet me at my favorite place. McDonalds.

1 hour later

"Ugh you guys took forever!" I complain.

"Sorry I was with... But I'm here now!" Lucas said as he kissed my cheek.
Where was he? He clearly was telling me a lie. He doesn't look me in the eyes when he is telling a lie. What was Huckleberry hiding.

"Riley.. Where were you?" I ask.

"Just... Helping my mom at her bakery." Riley lied.

I know Riley better than anyone when she lies she plays with her hair all nervous and guilty. She is doing that right now.

"Sure..." I say.

I'll talk to Riley about her little lie later.

"So... Farkle why were you late?" I ask.

Since Lucas and Riley are lying or really nervous about something I wonder if Farkle will lie too.

"I was at the dinner your mom used to work at. I wanted to... Eat!" Farkle said.

Farkle is lying. He might have went to the dinner but I doubt he went there to eat. What are these people hiding from me? Its bad enough they forgot my birthday but now they are lying to me? What is happing?

"Listen I know you all are lying to me so just tell me the truth!" I yell at them.

Riley looked at Lucas all guilty and played with her hair, Farkle looked at his feet ignoring what I just said, and Lucas looked at everyone and everything but me.

"Well great! My best friends are lying to me and forgot about birthday! Yeah its my birthday in case you forgot!" I yell at them as I walk away.

I hear Lucas yell "Maya wait I-" but I didn't care to hear the rest.

I guess hope really is for suckers. I hoped and I got disappointed.

My mom is at home with Shawn to celebrate my birthday. I told them I was going to spend it with my "friends". I guess I should spend it with them.

30 minutes later

"Happy Birthday to You
Happy Birthday to You
Happy Birthday Dear Maya
Happy Birthday to You. " Shawn and My mom sang to me.

I smiled at them when they finished the song. Spending my birthday with them wasn't too bad.

"Blow out the candles baby girl!" My mom said.

The cake was homemade and gorgeous. It didn't look like the prettiest cake ever made but I loved that my mom put this much effort into it. When I was little she would forget about my birthday or just say happy birthday then go to her job if u was lucky so this means a lot. It would mean so much more if my friends were here but I appreciate Shawn and my mom being here.

Right as I was going to blow about my candles I heard a knock.

"Wait a minute Maya let's answer the door first!" Shawn said as he opened the door. The the last people I wanted to see was there.

"What are you guys doing here?" I ask.

"Maya we can explain." Riley said shyly.

That's right Riley, Lucas, and Farkle are at my door.

"Really? You can explain now? Not an hour ago?" I say as I get closer to them.

"Maya just please listen!" Lucas said pleading.

"You got 5 minutes don't make me regret this!" I yell at them.

"Remember when we went shopping and you saw a beautiful gold heart locket necklace but it coast $300?" Riley ask me.

"Yeah why is th-" I question.

"Well I wanted to get something for you're birthday so i asked Riley and she told me about the necklace. So I then found out Missy's dad own the company that made the necklace so I called Missy and asked if she can give me necklace under $100. She said she would if I got her a date with Wren Kingston the new British student. I went to Wren Kingston and he said he would if Farkle and him would have a rematch on a chest game Farkle beat him on. So Farkle went to the dinner to do the rematch and he let Wren win witch meant Wren was now the president of the club. Now u went to meet you but I couldn't tell you. But I got the necklace and I hope you like it!" Lucas said handing me the necklace.

They all did that!

"Farkle I know how much the chest team meant to you! Thank you! Riley, thank you! Lucas you are the best boyfriend ever! Thank you!" I say pulling them into a group hug and kissing Lucas.

"Aww so sweet!" My mom said that made me blush and realize I just kissed Lucas in front of my parents.

"Maya.. I hate to break up this sweet moment but your cake is sorta melting!" Shawn said.

"Okay" I say about to blow out the candles.

"Wait first but this on!" Lucas said outing the necklace on me.

I look inside the locket. Its a picture of Riley, Farkle, Lucas, and me.

"Aww thanks!" I say looking at Lucas.

"No problem Now blow out your candles!" Lucas said.

What could I wish for? Nothing I have everything I could ever want.

I blow out the candles.

What a perfect way to end summer.
