Jeanna danced around the kitchen with Amy to Destiny's Child's “Bootylicious” as they made breakfast. Risa was still snoozing in her bed, exhausted from last nights activities, and so Jeanna decided to make breakfast before she woke up. After breakfast, Jeanna wanted to surprise her daughter with a fun day at the beach.
“Are you sure John'll be okay if you go with us to Orchard Beach today?”Jeanna asked as she flipped one of Risa's smiley face pancakes.
Amy snorted. “Are you kidding me? Even if he did, he'd have to get over it. There's nothing like having a girls day with my best friend and her adorable little munchkin.”
She laughed at the reference to Risa being a munchkin. “Okay. I'm just glad you get a day off from that monster of a kid you nanny.”
Amy sighed, grabbing a bowl and dumping the strawberries and blueberries she'd just washed in. “You and me both!” She turned to Risa who had just stumbled sleepily into the kitchen. “She's awake, Mamma! Sleeping Beauty has risen from her slumber!”
Risa giggled and ran to give Amy a hug before wrapping her arms around Jeanna's legs. “Morning, Baby,” Jeanna said, kissing the top of her head. Her hair was sticking up all over the place. “I made pancakes, and then we're going to the beach today! How does that sound?”
She shrieked with excitement. “Can I wear my new toop?”
Jeanna laughed at her representation of the word suit. Sometimes her baby talk was too cute. “Sure can.” she grabbed Risa's princess plate from the counter and slid her pancake on it. “Amy has strawberries, she said, raising her eyebrows. “Eat up, and then we can go.”
“Whoa, not so fast, munchkin,” Amy said, spooning a few berries onto Risa's plate. She was practically shoveling her pancake in her mouth. “One bite at a time.”
Jeanna rolled her eyes and grabbed a paper towel to wipe the syrup off the little girl's cheeks. She knew she was trying to eat as fast as she could, thinking it would help them get to the beach faster. “Might as well do as Amy says. You have to wait on her and Mommy to finish eating before we can go to the beach.” Jeanna sat her cup of milk down for her and turned her attention back to the pancake griddle. She pulled two more plates from the cabinet and put her's and Amy's pancakes on them. “Here ya go, Lovely,” she said, handing Amy her plate and turning the griddle off. She slid into the chair beside Risa.
“Mmm, Mommy. This is good,” she said, stabbing a half of a strawberry and taking a bite of it.
“Good, 'cause I cut the strawberries!” Amy joked with her, ruffling her red locks.
Once breakfast was over, Amy helped rinse the dishes and load them in the dishwasher while Jeanna sent Risa to her room to put on her bathing suit.
“Thanks for the help this morning, Amy,” she said, wiping her hands on the dishtowel.
“No problem, anytime. Now, I'm gonna go change into my sexy beach attire,” she laughed, grabbing her blue beach bag from the bar and heading towards the bathroom.
