Amani's POV
*knock knock*
"Amani habibi, can you grab the door? I'm busy making dinner", I hear my mum say before I rush downstairs.
"Farihaaa", I squealed, delighted to see my best friend standing behind the door.
"Salaam Amani, I missed you even though its only been a day", we giggled to ourselves before I returned the salaam and let her come inside.
"Come let's go to my room Fari" I grabbed her by the arm.
"Wait Amani, let me just say hi to Aunty Aminah and uncle Bilal."
"My dad just left the house and mum's in the kitchen preparing dinner" I said before we made our way to the kitchen.
The aroma of my mothers famous vine leaves made our stomachs growl. "Assalaam wa alaikum Aunty Aminah, Ma Sha Allah the food smells amazing."
"Wa alaikumusalaam habibti Fariha, will you be staying for dinner then?"
"Of course aunty, how can I say no to your vine leaves".
Mum laughed, "Okay habibati, go inside and have fun, i'll call you down when dinner is prepared, shouldn't be too long."
"Are you sure you don't need help mummy" I asked.
"yes darling, go on up".
Fari and I giggled and rushed upstairs to my room before we plopped down on my bed.
"How's life?", I asked. This may seem like a not-so-smart- kind of question considering the fact we see each other almost everyday, but it is crucial as us best friends have the need to know about every single detail in each others lives.
"Well life hasn't changed from yesterday, studies have been taking over my life. I can't believe how many essays we have to write, who knew becoming a primary school teacher would be so hard."
"Same here you know, my nursing course has left me sleep deprived." Nursing has been a long life goal ever since i can remember, I've always admired this job as i feel the need to constantly be helping other people.
"Lets have some fun today, do u wanna play scrabble?" Of course she was going to suggest the game that i was absolutely horrible at, i despised the game as i have no talent in the English region.
"Come on, you know how much I hate that game, i never win".
Fari laughed, "the perks of training to become a teacher, my vocab is amazing."
After laying down on my bed for a few minutes, a brilliant idea stormed through my mind,"Lets watch a movie, how about 'The Notebook'!" I suggested even though we have watched the movie countless amount of times.
"yess, God knows why we haven't got sick of it yet".
I jumped off the bed and grabbed my laptop,"probably because we secretly wish to get married".
"Come on we are only 20 years old, i wanna finish university before taking the next step in my life".
"i don't really mind, whatever Allah has wished for me is best, mum and dad are thinking of looking for a potential husband for me."
"Speaking of marriage, i cant wait for the wedding on Saturday night, we are gonna be twinning it as bridesmaids in smokingly beautiful dresses." The dresses were stunning, and were baby pink in colour. They were long sleeved, slightly fitted and flared out around the waist. They had beautiful embroidery and gems all over that shined in the light.
