the date went exceptionally well. calum drove aurora home, giving her a faint kiss on the cheek and he was off. aurora couldn't help but think about it all night, her stomach tying knots. sitting up, she grabbed her notebook, frantically writing all of her thoughts.
i accompanied calum hood tonight, on a date. it was like no other, he took me to look at the city. it felt more ethereal than i could have imagined. i didn't want to admit at first that i was having quite a great time, but the way he spoke so passionately and listened to everything i had to say had me doubting my thoughts. he made my negative thoughts simply fade away as he smiled. but, sadly, nobody is able to have that feeling around forever. the feeling of disclosure still wavers over me. all of those who i accompany, are so kind. i feel as if all i could ever do is let them all down. kind hearts like that shouldn't deserve that. nobody should.
aurora slowly closed the notebook, placing it back into its slot in her shelf, and laid down. her eyes fluttered as she slowly felt the feeling of an enduring sleep take over her body.
walking onto the college, aurora slowly headed for the table where her friends sat, talking. melanie looked over towards her with a smile, yelling for her to sit beside her. calum turned as she walked over. his smile grew wider as she looked up, staring right at him and giving him a faint smile.
"hey guys." she mumbled softly, sitting between melanie and michael. she turned to give michael a faint smile as he picked at the table. he grinned back at her, holding his finger up to quickly grab something from his bag.
"this is for you." he smiled softly, placing a faint drawing in front of her. her eyes widened as she studied the drawing. it was a picture of her.
"why have you never drawn me?" luke spoke up, looking at the drawing, making aurora look up at him as he frowned. "for a dumbass you did really well."
"because you're ugly." michael chuckled, making luke roll his eyes and slump in his seat. calum looked at the drawing with a confused expression, glancing at michael than back at aurora, who thanked michael and put the drawing in her bag.
aurora felt a smile creep onto her face. although he probably probably didn't want it to come across that way, michael saying luke didn't get a drawing because he was ugly made her slightly feel more confident in her complexion. although she believed she was overthinking things, she still smiled to herself. this, however, didn't beat her emotion from the previous night when calum called her beautiful.
"so i was thinking we could go to this party tonight an-" ashton began, but stopped when aurora's head shot up to look at him. everyone turned to her as she frowned.
"oh, sorry." she shook her head, glancing back down at the table. melanie turned to her and frowned, looking back at ashton as he continued to talk about the upcoming event.
"anyway, i think we should all go." he grinned, making aurora shift in her seat. everyone agreed, their attention turning to aurora as she was yet to answer.
she didn't want to go. but she felt a deep feeling that they wouldn't want to be her friend, as they've said, if she didn't go. she didn't want to admit that she wanted their friendship. but she did.
"i-i'll go, yea." she nodded, making ashton cheer and high five luke. calum glanced at her as he studied her nervous expression. he opened his mouth to speak when michael cut him off.
"you don't have to go if you don't want to." he mumbled, making her turn to him with a confused expression.
"oh, yea!" ashton spoke up, "we're not forcing you to or anything."
"no, i'll go." she smiled softly, turning away from them all to pretend to look at something else.
she paced towards melanie's car, seems as all melanie wanted to take her to get frozen yoghurt.
"i can pick you up tonight if you'd like." melanie grinned, earning a nod in return from aurora. "it's a plan."
the two got into the car, heading towards the middle of the city.
"so i heard calum took you on a date last night." melanie smirked. making aurora frown.
"he told all of you?" aurora said quickly.
"nope, only me." she grinned as she looked at the traffic in front of her.
"okay." aurora sighed and sat up straight in her seat.
after frozen yoghurt, and melanie dropping aurora at home. melanie was already back in front of aurora's house waiting to pick her up.
aurora sat in her room, finishing another paragraph of writing in her notebook.
day 4 and i'm going to a party. what type of predicament have i let myself fall into? hopefully i can keep myself occupied alongside melanie or even calum. it's quite humorous, that once i could not stand the constant stare of the boy, but now i secretly hope he is around me. people impact one another in different ways.
a text from melanie signalled she was outside so aurora got her stuff together.
melanie sat as she tapped the steering wheel, luke sat beside her, ashton sitting in the back seat.
aurora walked down the hallway, glancing through the crack of her parents doorway and walking out to the front porch, locking the door.
she walked towards the car, glancing at everyone inside, her eyes dropping as none of the familiar faces were calum's.
"hey stranger." luke smiled at her as he poked his head out of the window. aurora smiled softly, opening the back door and climbing into the car.
"hey aurora." ashton grinned.
"hi ashton." she mumbled back, doing up her seat belt and closing her door.
"so..." melanie dragged out. "i want to drink tonight. so we need another lift home."
"are you serious?" luke groaned, throwing his head back against the seat.
"hey!" melanie snapped, "i should be able to have some fun as well!"
"i'll drive." aurora spoke up from the back.
"wHAT NO!" melanie screeched, hitting the brakes in the middle of a half busy street. luke began to yell at her as she spun around and looked at aurora. "you gotta let loose and have fun too!"
"melanie we're holding up traffic!" luke muttered as melanie continued to go on about how aurora deserved to have a good time.
"fine i'll get friends to pick us up!" ashton yelled, making melanie nod and start the car again.
cars honked their horns at her as she flipped them off out the window.
"let's get our groove on." ashton grinned."
"shut up ashton."
