It took me a certain great amount of time, consciousness and presence of mind to register the sentence that Aryan just uttered and when it finally got registered in my brain, I could say I was as shocked as a bird landing on a live wire. With no amount of exaggeration there, yeah.
And again, the only sound I can hear is the ticking of the wall clock. To start wondering why in the world its sound becomes so loud at this moment wouldn't be appropriate right now because I have other things to worry.
I can tell you that I am still unsure whether I heard that right. Make Raghav fall for you. The words resound in my ears and before I even realize my palms have become all clammy with sweat.
He has got to be kidding me.
Why does he need to take this stupid game of truth or dare so seriously, it might lead to unhealthy implications. It was supposed to be a simple uncompounded dare such as having a spoon of vinegar or chilly powder. I could even hop like a rabbit or smear peanut butter on my face if asked to do so.
But out of all the dares that he could think of, is this what he could come up with?
"Are You crazy?" I ask , glowering my eyes at him.
"Aryan, stop kidding. I told you to give a sensible dare." Neerav says.
"I am not kidding" he says with an ever so serious look on his face that I begin to wonder what is exactly running on his extra-brainy mind right now.
"Aryan? This is just a game. And don't forget that its Rhea whom you are giving this dare. Don't involve Raghav in all this stuff. And you know how Rhea has been encountered with Raghav before..-" Neha says, a slight speck of worry laced in her chirpy voice.
"I know that. But Haven't you heard of tit for tat?"
"It's Raghav we are talking about." Neerav says.
This was so not happening. How does he even get such ideas in his brain?
"What's wrong with you? He is your brother." I speak up.
"He.Is.Not.My.Brother.Okay?"
I can't even imagine making Raghav fall for me. For those who believe that nothing is impossible in this world, you should be in my place right now and you'll realize that the thought of making Raghav fall for me was only next to impossible. Atleast not in this life.
And this would be the case not only with me, but I strongly believe that not even Megan fox would be able to make him fall under her charm and have her way out.
Regretting my decision of taking a dare might as well show only my stupidity and lack of thoughtfulness.Would Truth be easier? Of course. Anything can be easier than making Raghav Khanna fall for you.
I wonder why did I even agree to play this game of truth or dare in the first place, not thinking even once about horrific consequences like these.
And on top if at all, Neha had given me assurance that 'it would be fun'. If this is what they call 'fun' then I would say I was way better off leading a no-fun life.
Just then the silence of the room breaks again with the lyrics of 'you bring me joy' filling the air indicating that Neha's phone is ringing.
"That's my phone! Where's me phone?" she asks.
Oh Right Neha had left her phone at home.
It is now that I realize she hadn't taken her phone with her. Isn't that why I wasn't able to contact her when she wasn't at home?
She gets up and walks away to get it While I cannot help but wonder how in the world did Aryan contact her with my phone earlier in the evening. Neha's phone was lying in the house, obviously.
I feel absolutely foolish right now for not noticing it earlier.
