Safely back in my cab, I decided that now would probably be a good time to check out that address that was on the letter.
I pulled up to a block of dingy apartments. Each one had a set of rusty numbers nailed to it, telling me who's door was who's. I found number 435 and knocked on the door. There was no answer. There was a window next to the door, covered by a flimsy piece of cloth that was supposed to be a curtain. I looked through the window and the flat was empty. Deserted. Have I been set up? I thought to myself. I decided to knock one more time on the door. As I knocked I looked down to the doormat. There was a tiny envelope peeping out from underneath it. I picked it up and opened it and there was the door key for flat 435. I used it on the door and crept inside.
Immediately in front of me was a low wooden table with a phone on it. The phones voicemail was flashing red signalling that there was a voicemail to be heard. I decided that I would have a listen to see if it had any relevance to why I was sent here. I pressed the play button and a jumble of words played, all messily. I couldn't pick out a single word. When the message got towards the end, a discernible voice said, "Record this message on your phone. Solve the code. Be safe."
Sorry this chapter is quite short. Thank you all so much for reading and voting:) tell me what you think the mysterious code is...and how you think it could save his life?
