Code Green

Bruce's POV
Six hours, six flipping hours and not a word. I'm slowly starting to become hysterical. 'Dr. Banner, may I have a word?' a doctor asked, pulling me to the side.
'Sure, it is about Kyla? Is she ok? Does she need an operation? When can I see her?' I babbled, firing question after question. 'I'm sorry...' He began placing a hand on my shoulder 'We have done a skin graft to repair and cover the damaged area the best we can, however, the pure force and scale of the blast has put her into a coma. I can't estimate when she will wake but you can go and she her now if you wish' he explained.
'Shit!' I cursed
'Language, thank you sir' Steve nodded as the doctor walked away.
'I-I've got to go...' I sighed bluntly
'Bruce wait-' Tony attempted
'No, I have to go. Now. Code green.' I shouted as I ran out into the car park.

In a matter of seconds, the other guy had control of my body and all morals were out the window. I ran for the hills and kept going with one thing circling in my mind. Would Kyla wake up from the coma?'

Kyra's POV

Safe to say I was only in a coma for a week and a half, of course I wasn't aware of this at the time.

My eyes began to flutter open and I tried to focus on anything in my line of sight.
'What the-' I began as I attempted to move to sit up right, only to feel the most excruciating pain of ripping on the right side of my body. 'Kyla? You're awake. Don't move, I'll go get the doctors' Steve smiled as he jumped up and headed to the door. Seconds later he returned with a doctor and the gang in suit.

'Wait, what' I gasped 'Let me get this straight, I've been out for nearly two weeks. What have I missed? Jesus, I bet Fury is annoyed as all hell.'
'Quite the opposite, he doesn't want you working for a month or at least until you have recovered properly. He was really worried when we explained to him what happened.' Clint shrugged. 'Ohhh, wait. Where's Dr.Banner?'
'He,ummm. Code green.' Tony sighed. 'It happened after you came out of theatre and Fury said he has returned but no one has actually seen him. He's in hiding if you will'

'Does he know that I'm awake?'
'No but I can call him' Steve began.
'NO! I mean no don't it's best if we leave him. I don't want to stress him out, maybe I can surprise him instead. When can I get out of here doc?' I asked the doctor who was checking all the machines I was hooked up to.
'Well, I recommend considering the circumstances of your injury that you stay another day, just to be on the safe side' he replied.
'We have medical professionals at the Avengers tower. Can I go now, I'm feeling fine, I swear.'
'I suppose if you're sure and if I get the all clear from my supervisor' he nodded 'I'll go and check for you, I'll be back in two shakes of a lambs tail'
'Why must we wait for the lamb to sake it's tail?' Thor asked, extremely confused.
'It's an expression, don't worry about it.' I explained.

Great news, I got the all clear, with a little convincing from both Tony and Nat. We were now on the way back to the tower and since they weren't planning on me coming back today we were all cramped into Tony's Audi hatchback. I was sitting on Steve's lap as it was the best and most comfortable position, it as either this or being squished between Steve and Thor. 'Hey guys, when we get back, can you guys drop my stuff off in the main living area and drop me off at Bruce's room. I want to surprise him.'
'Sure thing Lady Kyla, I'm sure our friend Banner will be thrilled' Thor smiled.

A couple of minutes later we pulled up outside of the tower and Steve pick me up and refused to let me take the stairs to Bruce's room. He put me down outside the door and hugged me before walking away to join the others. Alright Kyla, you can do this. I knocked on the door twice and waited. No answer. I tried the door handle and pushed the door open. Right, now to find Bruce.
