I walked, actually more like limped or shuffled, into Bruce's room. I scanned the room until my eyes fixed on a heap of blankets in the corner, I moved a little closer and could just about make out the famous purple shirt that could only belong to one person, it seems as though he had surrounded himself with blankets.

I approached him cautiously when I heard low mumbling. It sounded like something along the lines of 'Get with Banner, pull yourself together' shortly followed by a sniffle or two. I nervously cleared my throat and looked directly in Bruce's direction. He shuffled around before poking his head out from the masses of blankets and pillows. I saw his face change through the phases, from sad and depressed to elated and overjoyed.

'KYLA! Thank god you're ok.' he whisper shouted, pulling me to his chest.
'Ouch! Of course I'm ok, you can't shake me that easy.' I laughed.
'Sorry. I thought I might have lost you' he sighed as we sat down in his makeshift fort 'I'm guessing that they told you of my, umm'
'Yes, I know. That's why I wanted to come straight here. Are you ok?'
'Just a little shaken, you know. I should be the one asking you that Kyla. Tony shot you and here you are worrying over me.'
'Bruce, you mean so much to me, not only are you the person I aspire to be but you are the glue to this team, without you were would Tony and I be.'
'You know something Kyla, you're like the little, scientist sister I never had. You really do support me and keep me afloat, not to mention give me a run for my money!' he smiled, hugging me tightly.

'Bruce, promise me something.' I whispered after a short silence
'What's that?'
'Never give up, I'm here for you all the way should you ever fine yourself, low, again.' I assured him, looking into his glowing brown eyes. 'Thank you Kyla.' We sat there for a while before I yawned. 'Why don't you rest up for a bit, believe me, you're not alone' he laughed.
'Ok, night Bruce'
'Night Kyla' he said as I curled up into his side.

So, back to the present. Over the next couple of days, I was constantly looking in the mirror to assess the damage and I admit it left a huge scar that kind of freaked me out, but, no one apart from me will see that so... Anyway, I had been monitoring the healing process and today marks one month since. For the past, I don't know 3 weeks, I haven't been able to so much as lift a finger without everyone kicking off.

Ohhh, I almost forgot, Tony. Now did he get one hell of a, excuse my colourful language, bollocking from practically everyone. He did fess up to it and apologise but you'll never guess how. So, he brought me a house. A HOUSE! But, ohh no, it didn't stop there. He ended up booking a getaway for the science team, consisting of me, Bruce and Tony, to his private island since he believed we all needed the time off. He then got me a car to travel safely from A-B, but he got the car I wanted most, a firebird. To top it all of he got me a necklace.

You could say he was covering himself for future incidents.

Anyway, back to the problem at stake. So, today I had snuck into the kitchen to get gods magic, coffee. I had been stuck in confinement long enough and this was the perfect prompt for an escape. Only problem being, I couldn't reach my mug. 'Why must I be so god damn short?' I huffed to myself as I tried to reach the top shelf. 'Let me get that for you' a voice said 'There you go shorty'
'Thanks Tony' I smiled 'Did you use the step ladder? There's not that much between us' I laughed before holding my side, a slight pain present. 'Now, what did we discuss about you taking it easy.' he tutted, resting his head on my shoulder.

'I know, I know. I just wanted to have some independence, you know' I sighed
'Yes, I understand. But, you need to be careful' he laughed 'So, what else did you have planned for today, daredevil?'
'Ha ha, so funny.'
'I try...'
'Well, I was going to make my coffee and then go to the lab-'
'Nope!' Tony interrupted 'No, the lab is a no go zone, out of bounds'
'Really, but I have work to do.'
'I don't care, find a way around it. But, you know what you are going to do though?'
'What?' I shrugged
'You will be accompanying me to a party tonight, no ifs or buts. And you know what that means, dress shopping.' he said in a stereotypical valley girl voice.
'Urrggggg' I huffed, rolling my eyes.
