If you wanted information on just about anything, the Athena cabin is where to get it. Dante and I decided to stop by and see if any of the kids could tell us about the Chaos Enigma.
We invited ourselves into the cabin since anybody in there would be too engrossed in their work to answer us. Inside was Rory, a nerdy boy with brown, wavy hair and thick, circle glasses that covered most of his face. We navigated our way through the labyrinth of books that covered the cabin floor to the desk Rory was working at.
"Rory," I said.
Rory didn't give a response and kept writing big, intelligent words that hurt my brain if I tried to read them.
"Rory," I said again.
No response.
"Rory!" I yelled.
"Huh?!"
Rory looked up from his writing to see us. His small, brown eyes looked over his glasses that rested on the edge of his nose.
"You wouldn't notice if there was an earthquake right underneath you," I commented.
"Well, geographically, earthquakes are very uncommon in this area due to-"
"Anyways," I interrupted, "we need to know about an item."
"What item?" He questioned.
"Do you know anything about an item called the Chaos Enigma?" Dante asked.
"Hmm. Let me see..."
Rory slid his chair over to a laptop and typed away. After a few minutes he called us over.
"I don't see anything about a Chaos Enigma," Rory said, "but I did find an article about an artifact at the MoMA."
He turned the computer screen to us. On it was a picture of a black rock with cryptic writing on it.
"It's an ancient slab that they say is linked to the beginning of existence. They also say that Chaos created it to contain his power," Rory explained.
"I don't know if it has anything to do with your Chaos Enigma, but it's worth checking out. Maybe you can get Chiron to let you go see it."
"Yeah like he'd ever-" Dante started.
I quickly covered Dante's mouth.
"Yeah we'll do just that. Let's go ask Chiron. Thanks again for your help, Rory. Bye!"
I quickly dragged Dante out of the cabin and pulled him to the side.
"Are you crazy? We're not supposed to know about this remember? Chiron would never let us go," I chastised.
"Well then, what are we gonna do?" Dante asked.
"We sneak out." Dante looked at me questioningly. "Tomorrow morning, while everyone is still asleep, we can go to the museum. Use today to get ready."
I walked off towards Bunker 9. Going to find this rock was exciting. I've always been a curious guy so finding out something as big as a war was thrilling. First thing in the morning, we'll be off on our first adventure.
