"Sssshhhhh!" Nina orders the group, everyone go's silent, it's like the word has stoped and all you here is this awefull noise that is screeching in your ears.
"Vhat is that?" Emma whispers
"He's here." The words slip out of my mouth, and I instantly feel my lungs tighten, making me breath less.
Nina jumps down off the table and just stands their. Her fists clenched tightly and stiff, until the noise finally stops, allowing me to release a breath I didn't even know I was holding.Everyone is still quite, even the birds are quite, like they know something is going to happen.
Pete suddenly stands up and starts walking, he now's the drill by now, and so do we. Everyone follows his actions and we all walk in silence.
The air is so thick and heavy I don't think even the sharpest of swords would cut through it.Emma comes up to me quickly and asks "Vhats happening? Vhats going on?" Her voice is tinted with a bit of fear and curiosity, the same way toddlers voices are when they incounter something new.
"The horn has been blown, which means He's here." I answer her, my voice cracking.
"Who is this He you are talking about? I don't understand!" She throws her hands to her side's frustratedly.
"The Leader." Meg finally gives her a straight answer, her voice small.
Emma gives her an understanding nod, and finally go's quiet, her head hung low, looking at the small pebbles she is kicking in the dust.Silence hangs over the group like a plague. It's kinda scary not hearing anybody's voice, not even Megs soothing humming is heard.
I look over at Emma, who is still next to me. She usually walks with a small bounce in her step and a smile on her face, but even her body language is dreadful.
Pete is walking next to Aran, there steps synchronized. Aran is looking down at the ground, her hands laced together in front of her. Her face showing no expression, which is a contrast to her usually vibrant features.
Pete is looking at something in the far distance. Whatever it is, he is thinking about it really hard. With his eyes squinting from the bright sun and his body just walking, not even thinking or worrying about the direction it is going.
I look ahead and see Nina, also looking directly in front of her, but she is not searching for anything, just looking. Her fists are still clenched and her pacing is faster than usual. Her eyes are searching all around her, her hears twitching whenever she hears something.
I look over my shoulder, to see were Meg is.
I see her thin form a couple steps behind me. She has her arms crossed in front of her chest, like she is trying to hug herself. Her posture is a little hunched, which is strange because she always stands straight. She used to look so elegant and proud, but the only thing I see now is a scared girl, walking without a purpose. As we get closer to the center of Sanctuary, we start seeing more and more people, a crowed in fact.
Everyone is crowded around something. Whispers and murmurs are shared amongst eachothers. Some voices are filled to the brim with anger, others are stitched with fear and worry.
I try to walk a bit towards the center, so I can actually see what is happening. As I cut through the crowed of people I hear shaky breaths pass through chapped lips and onto my neck, making goosebumps run down my back.
I feel my hands start to tremble as the whole group gets closer and closer to the center of the crowd.
Nina hooks her arm onto mine, and gives me a gentle smile.
"It will be ok." She whispers
Her words hit me like a cool breeze, soothing my nerves.
I smile back at her, my trembling hands finally stopping. The whole crowd go's silent as they here heavy footsteps stride across the dirt pathway.
I look over a broad man's shoulders and see a dark form.
He wears a black cloak, with his hood up.
I can't see a sliver of his skin. The sleeves are too long to see his hands, and the cloak is too long to even see his shoes.
He is looking directly at the ground before him, not letting me see his face.
All around him are these big buff men, with white wings tucked inbeetween their shoulders.
"Who are they?" I hear Emma's shaky voice ask.
"Him," Meg points to the man in the cloak, "he is the leader. And those men all around him with the wings, those are his angels, his bodyguards." Meg explains. He looks all around the crowed, and finally lands his eyes towards us.
As I look at his face, I feel shivers run across my spine and back.
He is wearing a white mask, their is no mouth on it, only a nose and cold dark eyes. I can barely look at him without a horrifying memory push its way into my mind.
I squeeze Ninas arm, and I feel her grip mine too."It is that time of the year again." I hear his voice rumble in his throat.
"I hope you are ready." He chuckles. The brim of my eyes go black, and I feel my body becoming heavy, as well as my breathing. All I hear is the faint sound of someone screaming, and then the world around me finnaly turns dim and quite, letting me gently fall into the land of my dreams.
