Chapter 13

Daniel POV

When I walked back into the living room I realized that I had left my phone in the car. I had forgotten to come get the food and Terra and Amera's things after putting them in the bed to sleep. When I got out the car I noticed 3 cars pulling up in the driveway.

"Who the fuck is this?" I mumbled.

"Boy watch your mouth." my mother said getting out of the car with my sister and some boy who looked a lot like Mr. Hampton. "Didn't know I could read lips did you?"

"Sorry ma. I didn't know it was you." I said hugging her.

"Where's the girls? Goodness I haven't seen them since forever." she said pushing past me.

"Lets go into the living room and I'll go get them for y'all." I said while heading to stairs.

"Amira! David! Where the hell y'all at?"

"Boy stop all that cussing!" my mother yelled. Swear she got ears like a bat, them some super ears.

"Nigga you a fuck boy!" I heard coming from David's room. Damn what he do now.

"Bitch all I asked was for you to give me some head! You act like I asked you to have my babies! You simple minded asshole!" At this point I couldn't do nothing but laughing at his dumb ass.

I walked into my room & seen that Terra was up & drinking a bottle & the bathroom door closed with the shower running.

"Amera come downstairs when your done. You got company." I said picking up Terra & her bottle.

I went downstairs and seen Amira and David mean mugging each other.

"Let me hold her?" David said 

"Don't do it. He might drop her. He can't seem to handle anything properly." Amira retorted. "Where is my sister and why is everyone looking at me like I'm the last prize at the fair.?"

"Amira this is my mother, little sister, and I have no clue who anyone else is. But everyone here knows who you and Amera are." I told her.

"Babygirl those are your grand parents and your dad's mom." my mom assured her.

"I thought y'all didn't like us?" Amira asked

Amera POV

I woke up to Amira and David arguing about God knows what. So I decided to take a shower and when I got in I noticed that I didn't grab any clothes.

"Amera come downstairs when your done you got company." David said. But before I could respond I heard the the door close.

I hopped out the shower and started looking for my phone and purse. I always keep a pair of shorts and a tank in my purse. Along with some ankle socks and underwear.

I got dressed and ran downstairs to get actual clothing. As I got to the bottom everyone was staring at me.

"Why is everyone staring at me like I'm the prize in the cereal box? Can I have my face back?" I said still standing there. 

"Well now I know where they get they attitude from." One of the elderly women said

"They daddy." The other one said.

"Mrs. Slaughter what are they talking about? And why do you look like my daddy?" I said pointing to a little boy sitting beside Mrs. Slaughter.

"Mera how do you know her?" Daniel said

"Yeah." David and Amira chimed in

"One don't ever in yo life call me that. And two momma mumbles in her sleep. One day I heard the name Ashante so I looked her up. It wasn't hard to find her. She's momma's best friend. They've known each other since the 9th grade." everyone looked at me in amazement. "What? I do my research."

I went to grab Terra, sat on the ground, and played with her. I love little kids.

"Now that's the part of your mother I loved." One of the women said. "She loved little kids." 

"I'm sorry who are y'all." I said confused. "I don't wanna come off mean or anything. But I do wanna know."

"We are your grand parents." The elderly man said in a deep voice.

"I thought y'all didn't like us?"

"That's what I said."

Me and Amira just looked at each other confused.
