I tossed my long hair behind my shoulder and sipped a protein smoothie I had purchased a few blocks down at basically the only store that was open at 6 a.m. My eyes studied over every building I passed and the warm air filled my lungs. This weather made me feel lighter and I was basically skipping down the dirty sidewalks of London. I came to a stop when the cross walk sign ahead of me lit up to show an orange hand that signaled me to stop. I took a long sip of my drink and looked down at my feet to see a penny.

'Maybe it's my lucky day' I thought to myself with a smile and bent down to pick it up.

The cross walk sign informed me to walk and I stepped out on the first white line across the asphalt.

Tossing the penny up in the air I took another step forward and caught it in my hands with a grin.

"Maggie!" I heard someone shout and I looked up just as my foot hit the other side of the sidewalk and traffic rushed behind me.

I saw Sam dash out of a quaint looking book store and practically collided with a solo biker cruising down the side walk.

"Sorry!" She called as the biker swerved around her.

"Sam!" I shouted and she raced over to me. I flung my arms around her back and giggled when I pulled back.

"You're out of the hospital!" I cried looking her up and down, I was almost in disbelief. She still was very thin and she looked older then she was, her skin was very pale and her eyes seemed bigger then normal.

"I am," She beamed "But maybe I shouldn't have made a mad dash over to you because my stomach is giving me a pain" She added, her face had a bit of a green tint.

"I have some tylonel in my bag if you need some" I said and quickly began reaching for my purse. I hoped she wasn't going to get sick all over the side walk.

"No, it'll pass" She said and regained her smile before taking my arm and leading me back into the book store she had seen me from. The cool air rushed to meet me as I stepped onto the carpeted flooring and the bell connected to the door chimed softly as the door shut back.

"So when did you get released?" I asked as we sat down next to the exit door in plush, faded blue chairs that smelled of fire smoke and old people's parfumerie. It was oddly comforting.

"Yesterday" She said "Are you still working at Starbucks?" She asked.

"Yeah, actually I was heading that way a moment ago and should be going now. I don't want to be late" I said and stood up, adjusting my shoulder strap on my leather bag.

"I'll come with you to make sure I still have my job, since I missed a few days" She said as we walked out the door towards work.

-"Hellooooo" I sang into my phone as I whipped off my Starbucks apron and tossed it onto the hook.

"Where'd you go sweetie?" Eleanor called out from the other line.

"Work" I said as I leaned against a machine the the break room.

"Alright well me and Perrie left, we're going out to dinner tonight and I wanted to make sure you were still coming?" Eleanor questioned and I saw Andrew walk into the employee entrance and shed his jacket onto a bench underneath the apron hooks.

"Uh yeah I'll probably be able to make it" I muttered "Talk to you later" I said and Eleanor called out a quick goodbye before I hung up and shoved my cell phone into my rain sleeker and walked over to Andrew.
