The Flare: The Fire Burns

Prologue: The Hatching

It was a bright and sunny morning that Spring. The birds were chirping and singing a soft tune. The breeze howled as it swayed the grass. Sunlight beat down on the animals below, but the breeze made up for it.

In the clearing below, laid three eggs in a tiny nest. Surrounding the nest were the parents. The large dragons snored as they slept. The comfy atmosphere making it peaceable. 
Grumbling, the multi colored  father peeked open an eye, him being awoken by cracking and shuffling. His ears flicked at the sound, turning them toward the nest where the sound was loudest. He slowly lifted his head up and peered down at the eggs. He squinted his eyes a bit and his jaw hung open at the little cracks along the eggs. 
H quickly slithered over to his mate, a gleam in his eye. His claws make soft 'swish' sound as they ran over the grass. He shook and poked his mate ti'll she had awoken. A huge smile on his face the whole time. The smile putting a clowns to shame. 
Sighing, his mate sat up and stared into his eyes. On seeing how happy he is, she titled her head, in confusion. Snorting lighting she stood, her tail swishing behind her. 
Her mate quickly grabbed her snout in his paws and turned her head towards the nest. As her eyes laid on the eggs, a little colorful dragonet broke through the hard shell. Wiggling the dragonet soon made the egg fall forward, the scaly baby rolling out of the egg. 
The mother gasped and leaned down towards the nest. She nudged one egg with her snout, snorting a bit. As she did, the second dragonet broke though. As did the third.
Already having enough strength, the third dragonet hauled herself from the egg. She chirped and barked. Jumping around in the nest. Her colorful feathers flying in all directions. 
Shes strong, but shes only a spark of the flame.
