Flare was happily laying down on a large tree branch, watching the clouds make their slow journey over head. She took in a deep breath and sighed happily. The weather was nice and calm. The wind had stopped, so it was easy for her to relax. The birds were singing their usual tune. Replying to each others chirps every few seconds. Squirrels were happily scurrying up and down the trees. Making little chirping noises them selves. A small fawn and it's mother grazed in the clearing below her.
Flare closed her eyes and turned her head away from the scene. She huffed, her ears flicking at the smallest sounds. She brought up a paw and fiddled with her earring, twisting it back and forth. She turned her head back at her left wing, seeing it bent in a weird direction. Both her and her family expected that she was fine, it wasn't ti'll she tried to fly up into the tree she finally noticed. But she hasn't told her parents yet, she doesn't want them to worry about her. And she doesn't want her sisters to know, they will just use that to their advantage.
A small shuffle was heard in the leaves above her. It didn't sound like a bird or a squirrel made it. Flare froze, not daring to move. Her eyes slowly laid on the branch above her. Seeing nothing, she sighed in relief and laid her paw down. Upon sighing, she heard another loud shuffle. She didn't want to look up this time, afraid of what it can be. Flare clutched her eyes closed and stayed as still as she possibly could. She knew she shouldn't be this afraid. But she was a cautious and jumpy dragon.
A smell yelp was heard beside her, being followed by a thump and a gasp.
Flare peeked open an eye, but she didn't see anything vicious like she was imagining. It was a blue dragonet, covered in webbed fins. The horns atop her head were large and curled, but her body was no bigger then Flare's
"Um, are you alright?" Flare asks, shying away a bit. "Ugh...yeah, sorry bout that" The stranger replied. "I'm Rain, whata bout you?" 'Rain' asked, tilting her head. "I'm Flare, are you here by yourself? You look along way from home" Flare stated, sitting up. "Uh, about that, I was abandoned not too long ago, so, yeah. Here all by myself" Rain replied, looking away with a sad gleam in her eyes. "Oh, we could take you in! My parents would love to take care of you, and I would finally have a sister that doesn't hate me!" Flare exclaimed , spreading her wings. She winced a bit at her sudden movement and pain in her wing. Slowly, she relaxes her wings and retracts them.
"Oh, sure! I would love that!"  Rain yells, a huge smile on her face. She bounces up and down on the branch and does a few flips in the air. Flare smiles back at her and glides to the ground, her new sister following close behind.

Little does she know, that her new found friendship..wouldn't last forever.
