It was has now been two years since Rain became one of Flare's sisters. The main three were only three years old while Rain was a year older. Rain was quite small for her age, she was only a bit bigger then Cloud, but she was the strongest.

Rain and Flare were flying around the forest, dodging the branches that got in their way. Cloud and Breeze were far behind, not having as much skill as the two ahead. It was sometime around the middle of the night, and it was dark except for the bright shine of the moon. There weren't that many stars and the moons light couldn't reach below the trees. That also adding to the girls struggle to fly through the woods.
They weren't just flying out at a dangerous time for no reason. Their parents had let them go exploring but they had to be back by sundown and they soon lost track of time. Causing them to have to fly home as fast as they could.
"We are in so much trouble!" Cloud yelled, the wind whipping at her face as she flew. "Don't worry, we are almost home!" Rain replied, turning her to look at her. "Yeah! Hush and save your breath!" Breeze called over.
Finally the girls landed in the clearing. Huffing and puffing, the girls flopped to the ground to catch their breath. Rain was the first one to stand back up since flying that fast wasn't a challenge or a work out for her. Slowly standing behind her were the other three, still exhausted.
"Uh, where's mom and dad?" Flare asked, fear evident in her voice. "I don't know, do you think they went to look for us?"Breeze replied, stepping forward beside her. "Nah, they would just sit here and wait"  Cloud added. "Well do-" Breeze started, but was cut of by a scream in the distance. "That sounded like Mom!" Cloud gasped, running towards the sound.
The girls were almost out of the clearing when a huge wall of flames suddenly flared up in front of them. Cloud, being the one in front, ran right into the flames. Her scream echoed through the air, but was cut short with a gurgling noise and one last groan before it went silent.
"Cloud?! Oh my god no!" Breeze exclaimed, panicking. "W-what?! She can't have died that quickly! And she would have gotten out with just some burns!" Rain yelled, backing up. Breeze stepped forward, a look of dismay and panic in her eyes. "I need to-" Breeze started, but was once again cut off, not by a scream, but by acid flying towards her neck.
She was to scared to move and it was already to late. The acid splashed on her throat, flying towards her face in little drops. The acid began to slowly burn through the her scales and flesh, bound to cause great pain.

Breeze stood frozen in her spot, she was to surprised to move or even feel the pain. When finally waves of pain coursed through her body, her eyes widened and a loud scream escaped her throat. She fell to the ground in pain, rolling around on the ground, begging it to stop.
Horrified, Rain grabbed Flare's paw and took to the sky.The girls flew ti'll they could no longer hear the heart breaking screams.

The girls never looked back as the flew...not once.
