I toss around restlessly on one of the guest bed's in Trevor's house. After finding out about his cousin's death he left the house saying that he needed time. Neither Quinn or I decided to pester him, so we let him go. When he came back he had a bag with some of my clothes in it and a few of my belongings, to my surprise. He said that since he was out he figured he'd stop by my place and grab some of my things for me. I thanked him and he told me that he'd put it in a guest room down the hall to the left; I didn't argue. Then we all sat down and watched a movie, although I don't think that any of us were really paying attention. We were each thinking about something. Trevor was most likely thinking about Andi. I was thinking about how I'm going to tell my mom (who happens to be coming back tomorrow) what happened to Anna. And Quinn? Who knows what goes on in his head. After the movie was over we all went our separate ways. Quinn went for a run, Trevor went to his dining room table to fill out some kind of papers, and I got a shower. After getting the shower I studied for about an hour before deciding to try to get some sleep. Currently, I'm failing miserably at doing so. I had changed into my PJ's that Trevor brought from my house awhile ago before climbing into bed. I thrash around in the sheets and sigh. What am I going to tell her? Oh, hey mom, by the way Anna died. Yeah, she was brutally murdered - or maybe she wasn't. Who knows? Either way she died. Oh, and our house was broken into; so you might not wanna stay there anymore for the moment. And to top if off I broke a fugitive out of jail who was sentenced to death by his older brother for no apparent reason. Not to mention his brother got him convicted of murdering Anna. Don't worry though, he's innocent. I snort as I can just hear the sarcasm laced in my thoughts. That isn't my only problem though. I have to manage to somehow tell Trevor that Andi was the one who broke into my house. I also have to tell Quinn everything that I've been keeping to myself - that ought to be fun. My eyes drift to the dark brown door as it slowly opens.
"Oh," Quinn whispers, "Sorry, did I wake you?"
Speak of the devil.
"No." I shake my head.
"Good," Quinn walks in, "I just came to get a shower, so don't mind me."
He does know there's another one, doesn't he?
"Okay." I shrug and watch him as he crosses the room and enters the bathroom, closing the door behind him.
Ugh, so he can close the bathroom door but he can't close the door to the guest room itself. I slide out of bed and trudge over to the door. I slam it shut, momentarily forgetting that Trevor might be in his room by now and trying to sleep. Oops? I'm about ready to climb back in bed when the bag with more of my belongings in it that's resting on the floor rings. I pause for a moment before quickly walking over to it and fishing my phone out. Thankfully, Andi didn't steal my phone too. I answer it without looking at the caller ID, which was a big mistake on my part.
"Kimberly?"
I'm pretty sure that my heart just skipped a beat or two.
"Dad? How'd you get my number?" I gasp.
"Detective Deupre gave it to me."
Last time I checked I don't remember giving Wyatt my number. Did he search my information? Or...Does he somehow have Anna's phone? The last thought turns my blood cold. In all honesty it does seem like a possibility. After all, Wyatt has been acting pretty suspicious.
"Why were you talking to Wyatt Deupre?" I ask.
"I heard about Anna," He sighs, "I'm sorry."
"Is that why you called?" I narrow my eyes, even though he can't see me.
There's a few seconds of silence on the other line.
"Yes. How's Vanessa doing?" He asks.
"Mom doesn't know."
