A/N: Yes, I know the saying is "Blood is thicker than water", but in this case it's different.
I wake up to the sound of voices. I roll around in bed and when I get blinded by light that's flooding through the windows it reminds me that I'm in Quinn's room. My eyes drift over to the door which causes me to notice that it's hanging wide open. I climb out of bed and my feet get used to the cold, hardwood floor after a few seconds. I make my way out of the room and into the hall so that I can hear the voices better. I'm not eavesdropping...Okay, that's exactly what I'm doing.
"Don't be ridiculous, Quinn," A feminine voice sighs, "I don't know where she is."
"You have to know. I know she abandoned you, but didn't you at least keep tabs on her?" Quinn asks.
"No," The person pauses, "I stopped making sure she was okay awhile ago. Just because I'm the nice one doesn't mean I'll be welcoming to her after all that she's done. I've looked after her as much as I could until she finally managed to push me away. I learned my lesson and I'm going to stay away. You should too, Quinn."
"I can't do that," Quinn's voice becomes more frustrated, "Look, your sister may be involved in the murders of the Where She Lies case."
"You mean to tell me that my sister is a murderer?" She scoffs.
"No," Quinn's voice gets quieter, "I do think that she's working with the murderer though."
"I know my sister has done some not-so-good things, but what makes you think she'd help someone murder people?"
"Call it a thought."
I walk further down the hallway and peek around the corner. Thankfully, Quinn has his back turned towards me while the girl is facing my direction. She doesn't seem to notice me though. I'm getting the feeling that this is Esmee, but why is she in Trevor's living room? Her blonde curls bounce around and frame her face as she shakes her head at Quinn. She rolls her vibrant, lively green eyes at him as she sighs.
"Okay," Esmee pauses, "I trust you. If I find anything out about Listette I'll make sure to tell you first. Last time I heard from her she was living downtown and was going to go to a party at Deviche's this evening."
"So you have heard from her?" The amusement in Quinn's voice is obvious.
"Not on purpose." Esmee presses her lips into a thin line.
"She's going to be at Deviche's? That's a fancy bar, isn't it?"
"Yeah," Esmee nods, "None of us are twenty-one yet, but that won't stop her. I'm sure it won't stop you from trying to find her, either."
"You're right." Quinn says.
As if on cue Esmee's eyes find me spying on them from the hallway. It doesn't matter if she was going to say anything or not since I yelp when Trevor comes up behind me and hits me on the shoulder.
"Whatcha doing," Trevor asks, but then his eyes land on Esmee, "Oh."
Quinn turns around and his eyes widen momentarily with shock, but then he gets over it just as quickly.
"I, um," He clears his throat, "I thought I'd invite Esmee over. I figured it would be easier if I did the meeting with her alone. I researched her and found out her phone number. Then I called her and asked her to come over, which she obviously did."
"I see," Trevor smirks, "Nice to see you again, Esmee."
"Hello Trevor," Esmee beams and turns her attention to me, "You must be Kimberly, it's so nice to meet you! In the little time that Quinn had to talk to me he told me quite a bit about you."
