This chapter is dedicated to @freespiritedanimal for the cover above. Thank you so much.

On another note, this is a new never-before-seen chapter. I've added a new scene. So the comments belonging to the prior version might not correspond.

CHAPTER SIX

I WAS VERY afraid of what Apollo had in store for me. His eyes were like that of a predator, scanning down my entire body like a lion would a prey. I could feel his intense gaze fixated on my back even when he moved behind me and this made me nearly break out in perspiration. From what I gathered, Apollo seemed pretty adamant about changing my outer appearance entirely. Needless to say, I was pretty excited as well to receive a makeover but the thing about those is that the results might not be received positively.

"I admit that I might be biting off more than I can chew." Apollo sighed, tapping his finger against his cheek as he chewed on his bottom lip. I gulped, posture completely still as I balanced on my good foot. "But I might have just the thing that can turn you from a mere five to a ten."

"Yay, how wonderful it is to be called a mere five." I sarcastically cheered. "You didn't have to be so rude about it."

"At least you passed," Apollo scoffed. "And I am not talking about the way your features look but rather the way you handle yourself. That slouching, timid, introverted self must go and never return."

"You say that like it's easy!" I threw my hands up in exasperation, slamming back onto the sofa seat with a roll of my eyes. "I've been this way for so many years and it is hard to change what is at the core."

"You are not changing what is at the core, sunshine." Slowly sitting himself down right by my side, Apollo shrugged his arm over the backrest of the sofa. I tried not to let my mind wander too far off about how his body was dangerously close to mine. "You change what is up here." Gently, he tapped his temple twice. "You keep telling yourself that change is impossible and that is what is stopping you from reaching your greatest potential. There are no villains in your story; no one but you. You are your greatest enemy."

At those words, I realized that with this makeover, Apollo had also promised me his friendship. His words brought a surge of confidence in me that I never knew I had, making me unknowingly smile at the thought of what I could become. It felt good to be believed in once more; I have not felt that feeling in a long time.

"Confidence, I think I can do. What's next, my dear stylist?" I asked, watching as Apollo's eyes glittered in mischief and excitement.

"You probably will not hear many guys say this but it is time for us to go shopping."

-----

Our mode of transportation was a little more different than the one took to Apollo's house. Instead of the gorgeous sleek black sports car, I was now on a motorcycle; the same one that Apollo had knocked me down with. I could already feel the bruise on my ribs ache just at the sight of the deadly vehicle but Apollo had assured me over and over again that he would not drive as fast as he normally would. With what was a relieved thought and somewhat trust for my newest friend, I hopped onto the backseat of the motorcycle only to regret it once we were tearing down the roads.

What Apollo had labeled as 'not as fast' was apparently still very fast. We had already run past multiple red lights, leaving me screaming in our wake and arms wrapped as tightly around Apollo's waist as possible. He only had a single helmet with him so he offered to let me have it.
