Facing Fear (slow updates)

The Prophecy

"Daughter of Poseidon you cannot hide from me I am a god" A voice boomed, "I can destroy everything and everyone you love. Mind as well join me and maybe I'll spare those who you love."  Nico emerged out of the ground and so did Phoebes.

"I will never join you Phoebes!"

"That's what I thought you would say. Sadly you are going to have to be killed. Until then, I'll torture you." He toke out his sword and readied it and swung at Nico. I couldn't move I could just scream,

"No!"

I woke up with a jolt. I look at my alarm 5:00 a.m. to late to go back to sleep. I got up and dressed. I put on a camp shirt and gym shorts. I went to the beach like I always do. I sat on the dock and thought out these dreams I've been having. I have to tell Chiron sooner or later.

"Maxi you're up early again?" I look over my shoulder to see Nico, he sat down beside me. He was still in his pajamas. His shirt was black and he had skulls on his pants. I smirked at that he blushed and said "They were the only pair not as embarrassing and they fit." I laughed and he did too.

"Maxi why are you up so early?" He asked again.

"Another nightmare." I say, after explaining I began to cry. Nico hugged me and said

"We need tell Chiron." He got me to my feet. We made it to The Big House and walked in. "Chiron?" Nico called. Chiron came in with curlers in her tail, I thought that was just a rumor! In other situations I would have laughed.

"Why are you two so up early?" He asked us,

"Well I've been having nightmares sir, and they're getting worse." I told him everything leaving out the Nico parts in the first nightmare. Nico and I were sitting on the couch, he held my hand to comfort me.

Nico's P.O.V.

I walked with Maxi down to the breakfast. She seemed to more fidgety then usual. Her strawberry blond hair was put in a ponytail. She didn't seem to have that sparkle in her blue eyes anymore. I could tell the nightmares are getting to her. I sat down at my table alone and eat. After I finished I walked to the Poseidon table. I walked up behind Maxi and scared her. "Nico don't do that!" Her plate was piled high with sweets

"Why not sugar addict?" I tease. She shook her head. We walked to our daily activities.

All day I couldn't stop thinking about Maxi. I don't understand way, it's just I feel happy again when I near her. After dinner I sat with Maxi at the campfire we laughed and joked. Then Rachel came out. Her eyes started glowing green and green smoke curled around her feet. Her mouth opened to speak. It wasn't just her voice it was the Oracles. 

"Three must go west to face old fears,

The Ghost King will be lost in the land without rain,

Fear must quiver by water's heir." 

She fainted and was toke by someone until she woke. I turned to Maxi, she was paler then paper. I took her hand as a comforting gesture. She was on the brink of tears, I took her to The Big House. "Chiron this obviously means a quest." I say,

"Yes Nico, sadly it does, and obviously means you two have to go." He said. I think through the prophecy, The Ghost King will be lost in the land without rain, I consider myself The Ghost King, the land without rain is where Bianca died. At least I know where to head now. "So you two will leave by tomorrow afternoon, pick someone to come with you." We turned and left.

Maxi's P.O.V.

When we walked out Nico's hand was still in mine, it felt almost natural. I ignored the feeling. We need to find a third person, Monica! I turn to Nico, "We should bring Monica, she's good with long range weapons." He nods. I walk to Demeter cabin and tell Monica. I walk back to my cabin and pack. six t-shirts, 2 tanks, 1 pair of jeans and 5 shorts, I had no sweat jackets stupid on my be-half. I pack toiletries to the minimum, and a sketch pad and my IPod.

I collapse on my bed and sleep with no nightmare thank gods. I awoke next morning to Nico, "Come on we've got to go." He whispered. I got up and put my hair in ponytail. I walk down to the Dinning Pavilion, this might be the last time I'm here. I grab something quickly and walk to Half-Blood Hill and sit under Thalia's tree. "Ready?" I hear someone say, I turned to see Monica and Nico,

"Ready as I'll ever be." I got up and we walked to the van Argus was taking us in. My last thought was, I might never see this place again, this is my home and I'm leaving it. Possibly for good.
