2 That One Phone Call

Elsa loved books. She loved reading and she loved the stories. It was one of her favourite things to do. She could just go into a library right now and read for days. And that's what she wanted to do. If only there was a book called 'How To Be A Nanny For Dummies.' It would do her miracles.

Sure she loved kids, but she didn't know how she was going to cope with the most known kids in the world. They could be spoilt brats who has a father that will give them anything.

Now, Elsa doesn't know much about the Frost family, but one thing she does know is that they are filthy rich. A great big mansion, a swimming pool, limos, you name it. The kids sure are spoilt. But she actually felt sorry for them. They didn't have a mother. Jack and Mrs Frost (whatever her name is) had a divorce. Apparently, it was an abusive relationship. Of course, Elsa isn't the one to judge, but that's just too cruel. Abusing your own wife? He should have gone into prison.

She sighed as she sat on her bed. It has been two days since the interview. Her parents didn't show much interest in her being a nanny but they didn't say no. So, Elsa took that as a yes. But she's afraid that the people changed their mind and decided to decline her. There hasn't been one call yet. They said they would call but here she is, staring at her phone, hoping for a miracle to happen.

It was absolutely silent. You could only hear her breathing. There wasn't even a phone call from them. Maybe they really did change the–

Ring. Ring.

Elsa was startled as her phone kept ringing. Gasping, she took ahold of her phone and accepted the call.

"H-hello?" She greeted.

"Is this Elsa Arendelle?" It sounded like the receptionist. At least they didn't forget about Elsa.

"Y-yes it is."

"This is Snowflake Industries. I'm calling to give you the details. Mr Frost has requested for you to start tomorrow. Is that alright?"

Tomorrow? Elsa wasn't prepared at all. But she couldn't say no or else they will change their mind. She really needed this job.

"Yes that's fine."

"Okay. We will send a driver to your house to pick you up. Please be aware that you're going to be living with the Frost family from then."

Oh yes. Because of the fact that she was a nanny, she had to be with the children at all times. That means living in the same house as them.

"O-okay then. Thank you."

The call ended and Elsa finished with a sigh. At least she wouldn't have to sit on a chair, facing a computer all day. She's going to be working with kids and that's what she wants. But being a nanny for spoilt kids is just too much work for her. Being bossed around, treated like a slave and most importantly, leaving her house and living in another. Her parents didn't even mind. It was like they didn't want her to stay, like they were disowning her.

But now, it looks like she's going to be an old nanny. Great!

The room was filled with silence. You could even hear a pin drop. A long table stood in the middle with a chandelier hanging above. Chairs were placed neatly on both sides of the table.

Posh, sophisticated and boring. That's what the room felt like. On a chair, there sat a little boy with boredom in his eyes. But they looked lost, like a boat in the middle of the ocean. His expression was blank as he stared at the food.

Opposite of him, was a little girl that had a teddy in one of her hands. She looked more happier than the boy as she scooped up a forkful of peas. She had a more cheerful looking eyes that sparkled a green colour. Her light blond hair was tied up in a neat ponytail. She was the exact opposite of the boy who had a more lighter coloured hair that he got from his dad.

At the corner of the room, stood a poised woman who wore a maid's outfit. Her sun kissed golden hair was in a braid. She smiled as she looked at the little girl but that smile dropped as she came in contact with the boy.

"Daymen, why aren't you eating?" She asked.

"I don't feel like it," came the blank reply.

The little girl glanced from the woman to her brother. She put on a proud smile. "Look Rapunzel! I've finished!" She said cheerfully as she pointed to her plate.

Rapunzel smiled as she walked towards the girl. She helped her get down from the chair. "Well done Evelyn. Now, go brush your teeth and get ready for bed."

The girl rushed off leaving the woman and the little boy alone. Daymen got down with a thud. His plate was untouched making Rapunzel frown.

She walked towards him. "Come on now. At least eat one spoonful. Your dad's going to get mad if you don't."

"Like he cares," he muttered.

"What are you talking about? Of course he cares."

"If he did care, then he wouldn't be going to those stupid business meetings."

Jack Frost, an amazing business man, didn't even have enough time for his own family. He would be going to business trips while his two kids were alone. Well, not exactly alone. He would appoint nannies to look after them, but because of Daymen, they would all flee. Daymen just wanted a little attention, that's all.

Evelyn didn't mind. Of course she missed her father, but that didn't mean she would go around, pranking her nannies. After all, she's just four years old while her brother is a year older.

Rapunzel squatted down to his size. She put a hand on his shoulder. "He does care about you Daymen. That's why he's working. He's working for you."

The boy took her hands off of his shoulder. "If he cares so much, then he should spend time with us and not working everyday."

The girl watched him go as she stood up again. Another woman came up to her. She had ruby hair that reached up to her hips. "He's always like that, Punz. Don't mind it."

Rapunzel turned to her friend. "How can I not mind it? I've only started working here for a few weeks but I've barely seen his father. Don't you think it's a bit harsh that he relies on nannies to keep his own children safe?"

The two started walking out of the dining hall. The curtains began closing as the moon's ray of light was stopped from entering the house.

They turned to a corner. "Punz you know how business men are like. They all think that working is the most important thing," she said. "And anyway, didn't Mr Frost hire another nanny?"

"Yes he did."

"Then you don't need to worry about the kids anymore. The nanny will take care of them."

The blondie sighed. "I know Ariel but it's going to be the same. Daymen's going to scare the living day lights out of her and Evelyn's going to make her read books every night. It's all the same."

Ariel smiled as they reached the end of the corridor. In front of them, was a large window. There were two doors at both sides.

"I feel like this one is going to be different."

Rapunzel returned the smile. "If you say so," she said with a yawn. "I'll see you in the morning."

The two waved goodbye and headed for their rooms. Rapunzel entered into her bedroom which was plain. There was a quite large bed and the walls were painted pink all over. To be honest, it was just normal looking. Not like the one that Jack has or like the ones the kids have.

She sat on her bed with a frown.

Let's just hope that this nanny stays for more than a week.

Every other nanny had been pranked on or gave up completely. But Rapunzel had a feeling that this one would change the lives of the children. Or even the lives of many others.

A/N: Hey guys! Update! I'm starting to really enjoy writing this book. I've got so many ideas planned for the next chapter! Yay!
