I discarded the bag of bottles, throwing it over my shoulders as they clicked against each other. I then placed the duffel bag with all my belongs in the dumpster as well, knowing I wouldn't need any of it. I returned at Blackgate, head held high as their looks questioned why I was on the premise. I walked up to the front desk folding my hands as the lady gave me one of those looks.

"What can I do for you sir?" She asks, and god I can't tell you how thankful I was for her to address me as a sir as opposed to kid.

"I'd like to speak to Jason Todd." I confidently say, watching as she presses some buttons on her computers.

"Well you can say your final words! He's being transported to Arkham soon." She informs me, and I nearly fall to the floor.

"He's going to Arkham? This must be some kind of mistake. His full name is Jason Peter Todd can you just you know, discount double check that for me?" I ask worriedly, my plans starting to change.

"I'm sorry sweetie but there's no aberration. He will be transferred in the next 12 hours." I ignored that she just called me sweetie, and nodded my head.

"Can you just, inform me why?" I wonder, I mean sure he killed a guy, but lots of guys killed a guy, so what made him so different.

"I'm afraid that's confidential sir." She pushes the glasses farther up on her nose, and my curiosity grew as she sat there typing away.

"Okay, well can you please get him in a holding cell, I'd really like to say my farewells if that's alright." I ask nicely, and she gives me a nod as she points to where I'm supposed to be. The guards let me in, and it's almost like last time, however my welcoming was even worse.

"You're in trouble already?" He hatefully asks, and I know I deserve it, but I brush it off to get to what's important.

"About to be." I whisper as he sits down.

"What does that even mean?" He asks, pushing up the sleeves of his orange jump suit.

"Oh don't be a Grayson!" I condescend.

"I'm not going to let you waste your life anymore because of me." He tilts his head, and the look on his face reads concerned.

"Damian what are you doing?" He asks as I stand up on the metal chair.

"Showing you that I do care." I stand up taller taking a deep breath as the prison guards suddenly look confused.

"Damian, I don't like th-" I cut him off as my abrupt yelling takes over the cell.

"I killed him! You've got the wrong man." I say pointing to Jay, who clearly did not see that coming.

"Damian stop!" He yells back, and I just turn to the guards shrugging as they watch my outbursts like no big deal.

"What you buffoons don't believe me? Bet you guys didn't check the dumpster in that alley? Look a bit closer next time will ya?" I scream like a lunatic, and Jason is reaching for me on the other side of the class, mouthing at me to stop. The guards start making their way over as some of them are screaming in their walkie talkies to retreat back to the crime scene. They start to grab at me, and I can see Jason's face wash over with guilt and sorrow.

"What did you just do?" He asks frantically, just loud enough for me to hear.

"Orange isn't your color." I joke, trying to make the most of this scene.

"No, like what did you just do? I won't be wearing orange when I'm in Arkham. I'm supposed to be going to Arkham!" He yells, as if I don't already know that.

"Not anymore..." I shrug, letting the guards cuff me.

"Damian this is insane, you're not going to make it in Arkham!" He yells to me, and I won't lie it was pretty tragic.

"Hey, Jay... I mean Jason" I say correcting myself, knowing he must be angry.

"Don't worry about me, alright?" I tell him, nodding as the guards pat me down to see if I have anymore weapons. He shakes his head at me.

"Why would you... What made you..." I stopped him in mid ramble.

"I'm not giving up on you. Now go do something with your life." I tell him, as the guards unhook him from his chains. I can overhear the policemen on the other line confirming that my prints are on the murder weapon.

"What about you? When will you be able to do something with your life?" His voice was rushed, true concern spilling over his normal I don't give a fuck tone.

"I just did." I smile at him, as I'm forced to the floor, my hands being held over my head. They start to read me my rights but I just ignore it as I watch them start to pull Jason out of his cell. I call out to him to say one last thing, as he turns to me before they push him out the door.

"Enjoy the free life kid."
