My body froze.
He can't do that to Michael.
He loved his career more than his life.
Music is his life.Soon that sadness I felt from his warning morphed into anger. How would he dare to say that? I looked at Michael, making me feel more relaxed.
"What did he say?" He asked, his facial expressions serious.
"I don't want to be here anymore." I mumbled, my eyes watering, "Take me back home."
This caught him off guard, "What? You said.."
"Forget what I said! Take me home now!"
"What did he tell you?" He asked again with a stern tone.
"It doesn't matter what he said!"
"Well, it matters to me!"
"Take me home now." I said angrily, standing up.
He let out a sigh of frustration and stood up, grabbing the keys to his car and walking out of the room. I followed him behind, grabbing his hand and then sobbing on his chest, his shirt now having my tears. "I don't want to go." I cried, burying my face on his chest.
"You don't have to go. I don't want you to leave. What did he say?" He mumbled, hugging me as he spoke.
"Johnny told him that I'm with you. If he finds out I am, he'll press charges and ruin your career." I said, "And I can't let him do that. Your career means so much to you, I can't."
He let out a soft sigh, but I could sense his fear. "Look, I'll go talk to him and I'll tell him that I found you wandering at a park or something." He mumbled as I looked up at him.
He wiped my tears away with the sleeve of his shirt before giving me a small, almost forced smile. I looked down and nodded.
"But I'll do that with only one condition." He continued, looking down at me with serious facial expressions.
"What?"
"You need to break up with that Johnny."
"Okay." I said.
I wouldn't mind at all since over the days I had realized that I didn't love him, and I never did. My heart belonged to someone else. Cheesy, I know.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Michael was now driving to my house, and the Johnny Cash music played softly in the car. It was the only think keeping me awake during the whole ride.You're gonna cry, cry, cry
And you'll cry alone
When everyone's forgotten
And you're left on your own..."Michael..?"
"Yeah?"
"What am I going to do?"
"When you get home?"
I nodded, as I looked out the window, feeling his look upon me for a moment.
"Talk. Talking will have to resolve this problem, don't you think?"
"But I'm scared."
"I know, darlin'. But I know you'll be strong enough." He mumbled, gripping onto the steering wheel.
I smiled as I felt my cheeks burn.
~~~~~~~~~~I stepped out of the car and ran to the front door of my house, giving a few knocks before Johnny opened. I pushed him aside before running inside my house. Michael followed me behind and have a dirty look to Johnny. I tried to suppress my laugh as I saw this. My father was in the kitchen and I stopped, he walked to me and hugged me, "Don't do that again. I couldn't bare losing you." He said, hugging me tightly. I didn't know whether I should respond the hug but Michael nudge me with his elbow and I put my arms around my father.
"I found her at the park and I just had to bring her back," Michael lied, clearing his throat before he finished speaking.
"Thank you, Robert." My father said, I furrowed my brows. Robert?
"It's really no big deal, man. Make sure to bring the little rascal back to my place tomorrow for piano lessons." Michael replied, giving a small nod before tucking his hands in his pockets.
"Oh, yes! She'll be there tomorrow, I'll make sure." My father replied, pulling apart from the hug. "And you," He looked at me, "We need to talk about this."
I nodded.
Johnny walked in the kitchen, "They're lying! She was with him this whole time!" He yelled, glaring at me and at Michael.
Michael rolled his eyes and my father furrowed his eyebrows, "Johnny I have had enough of your complaining and whining. I don't want you near my daughter anymore, please do me a favor and leave my house immediately before I call the police." My father said, crossing his arms in a defiant way before Johnny looked at me, anger filling him up.
"You heard my father." I answered, clearing my throat to hide my nervousness. Michael stood behind me in a protective way as we all glared at the squirmy guy.
Johnny marched his way out of my house, shutting the door so hard I walked to the living room to make sure he hadn't damaged it. Michael followed me behind and then gave a quick kiss on the lips before my father had walked in.
"Robert, I owe you an apology for what I had said earlier. I did not mean it. I was simply afraid of not seeing my daughter again." My father apologized. Michael shook his head a bit, "I understand. No need to worry about it."
An awkward silence filled the room for a couple moments before Michael cleared his throat, "I suppose you both have to talk things out so I'll leave. See Ya tomorrow, kiddo." He said, giving my hand a small shake as I internally rolled my eyes. He hugged my father and gave me a quick wink before exiting my house.
I stood on the door frame before blowing him a kiss, first turning around to make sure my father hadn't see the childish act.
Michael gave a small wave before driving out of the parking space and driving until his car was no longer seen. I stepped inside and looked at my father."I suppose it's time to get things cleared out." He spoke, taking a seat on the couch.
"I know you'll be strong enough..."
"Yes, father." I mumbled, taking a seat in next to him before he began to speak.
