Chapter 14

Oh my God, I am so so so sorry it's been nearly a year, I've just had so much stuff going on, so I've literally done this in like an hour, so its not great and its a bit of a filler tbh.

The next chapter will be better

I've lost track of how old she is so I'm just going to make it up

*6 MONTHS LATER*

"Is it done yet?" Jai asked sounding frustrated

"Nearly" I snapped from my bed, I was editing the new twin talk time and Jai wouldn't stop pestering me.

Jai was sat on the floor holding Harmony's hands in his as he helped her stand.

He kept sighing but I tried my best to ignore him

"JAI, DO YOU WANT ME TO EDIT IT OR NOT" I yelled, I'd done well to keep my anger under control for that long, but me shouting set Harmony off.

Harmony screamed as Jai took her out of the room rubbing her back.

"For fucks sake" I muttered as I threw my laptop off my lap and onto the bed, I punched the bed a few times. I climbed off the bed and made my way downstairs to the kitchen, where Beau and his girlfriend Chelsey were

"Pool" Beau said without looking up

I made my way outside and saw James now holding Harmony; Jai was helping Daniel retrieve the ball back from over the fence.

"Pass her" I said to James. Harmony buried her head into James and cried harder.

"Sorry Luke, looks like she doesn't want me too"

I snatched her off James, I didn't really mean too, but my child was crying and my instincts were telling me I had too.

I carried her into the house rubbing her back to try and calm her down; she eventually did so I grabbed a jar of baby food and put her in her high chair. By this point James and Jai had come in and were playing on the Xbox. I dragged the chair over to the sofas and fed her as I watched them play on the Xbox.

"I wonder what that tastes like?" James said

I held out a spoonful to him and he tried it, he spat it out straight away

"Eww" He groaned.

I turned back to Harmony who was scowling at me

"She's not impressed either" Jai commented

"It's because I gave her food away" I replied. At that point my phone rang so I passed the jar and spoon to Jai, who then reluctantly paused the game.

I looked at the caller I.D. and saw it was Farrah so I left the room.

"Hi" She said happily

"Hi babe"

"How are you?"

"I'm good, how are you and Charlie?" I asked

"Yeah it's good, he's starting to talk now, how's Harmony?"

"Really? What's he said?"

"Just Mummy and food and stuff like that but he's saying new things every day, anyway how's Harmony" She asked again

"Yeah she's fine" I said sighing

"It doesn't sound like it"

"It's just, she's a lot of work. I can see everyone having fun, sleeping all day and drinking and it just makes me upset that I can't do that; just because I couldn't wait two seconds and use a condom"

"Come on Luke, you don't mean that"

"I think I do" I sighed

"Maybe you're just tired, why don't you ask Jai or one of the other boys to have her for the rest of the day"

"They've done enough already today, it's not fair on them." I sighed

"Well, I'm coming over next week, just look forward to that" She said, and I smiled widely

"I know, I can't wait" I said happily

"Everything's all set up, Charlie's staying with my friend and I've got time off work"

"I don't know why you do that job" I said

"It pays my rent"

"Move into my flat! I've told you before" I said

I heard her sigh down the phone

"It's too soon Luke, and I've got Charlie to think of now"

"Okay" Was all I said

"Anyway, I've got to go my breaks over"

"I love you" I said, but she just hung up.

I put the phone down and walked back into the living room, where Jai had finished feeding her.

"Come on" I said to Harmony as I picked her up "Nap time"

I took her to my room and put her in her cot, and then I lay across my bed. I loved these moment, they were one of the only times I felt normal. Although I could do whatever I wanted, all I wanted to do right now was sleep.

When I woke up I couldn't see anything, I started to panic but then I realised it was a sticky note on my face. I took the note off and read it,

Farrah rang, we've got Harmony tonight at Chelsey's

Beau

I had a whole night to myself, I didn't even know what to do. I laid in bed for a little while enjoying the lack of responsibility, but around lunchtime I decided to get up. Jai was in the living room watching TV. I made some food and then I joined him.

We watched TV together for a while but then Jai said he was bored.

I suggested that we go into the centre of LA and look round, and Jai reluctantly agreed. After we both got dressed and ready we stole Jacobs car and drove to the centre of LA. We got some food and then we went around some clothes shops. It felt nice to be hanging out with Jai like we used to, everything felt normal again, until I saw a baby shop.

"I need to get Harmony some stuff" I said reluctantly, I wanted to ignore all of my responsibilities but she really needed some toys as I only packed a few stuffed animals and I've only had time to buy furniture for her. We went into the shop and a straight away grabbed a trolley, we were right next to the carpark so it didn't matter how much we bought. I bought her some educational toys a walker and then I picked out some proper shoes for her as she was just starting to stand up and was attempting to walk.

We paid for all of the clothes and then loaded up the car. When we got home I saw Harmony sat on the living room floor on a blanket, with pillows all around her so she couldn't crawl away. Beau was stood at the counter in the kitchen making up a bottle and Chelsea was say next to Harmony playing with her.

I said Hi to them and as soon as I spoke Harmony whipped her head around and when she locked eyes with me she raised her arms gesturing she wanted me to hold her.

I put my hands under her armpits and then balanced her on my hip. Beau passed me her bottle and then I took it all upstairs. I sat on my bed with her and then leaned her back and fed her. She made eye contact with me and used her hand to grab onto my hand that was holding her bottle.

At that moment I couldn't believe what an idiot I'd been these past few days, the fact that I even regretted having her for a second made me want to hate myself.

I finished feeding her, then I gave her a bath and put her in her pyjamas, it was a little early for her to be going to bed, but she'd probably had a big day and she didn't complain. Instead of putting her into her crib I took her into bed with me. I put some cartoons on and I leant backwards on my pillows, and I then sat her down on me and she used my chest as a pillow. She nestled down into my covers and watched the cartoons until she fell asleep. I played with her hair, and just enjoyed the moment.
