Pea's POV

I opened my eyes from the dream, my cheeks wet from my tears.

'Dang it!' I thought to myself while wiping the tears away. I saw the sun in the distance, about the set.

"Shoot!" I yelled, jumping on Lomina and going on a full gallop back to the guild.

Once I arrived at the guild and got Lomina in her stall, fully untacked, I burst through the guild doors, my hair a frizzy mess. Everyone stared at me, stopping in their tracks. I silently walked to the counter with all the beautiful food displayed. I got my tray and filled it up with almost everything. I sat down and ate quietly.

''What a great day..' I thought to myself sarcastically while mentally rolling my eyes.

"Hey Pea!" I heard Jade say cheerfully as she sat down next to me.

'Why the sudden change of heart?!' I thought, my face expressionless. "Hey.." I said back, not as cheerfully.

"Somethin' wrong?" Jade asked, obviously oblivious to what happened today

"Nah." I lied, my face still blank and unable to read. I poked my food around until I stabbed it with my fork and put it in my mouth. I savoured the taste, the food here was so dang good.

"Hmm ok.." Jade muttered. Jade shuffled in her seat as I continued eating silently, an awkward silence spreading. I finished eating and put the dishes and tray on the garbage counter. I stayed behind to wipe down the tables, only to notice that Jade was still sitting in that spot, her food barely touched. She stood up and dumped the food in the trash, putting her tray on the garbage counter.

'What's up with her..' I thought, pretending not to notice anything, continuing to wipe the tables. Jade trudged up the stairs, where the rooms were. Wiping down tables isn't really my thing, but no one was doing it and I don't want to eat on a table with crumbs, sticky juice, rotten fruits and all that blah. I finished up the little cleaning session, and went upstairs to my room on the girls' floor, which is thankfully extremely close to the stairs. I changed my clothes while brushing my teeth at the same time (which is harder than I thought), and plopped onto my bed, the poofy pillow and warm blankets awaiting me. I made myself comfortable and read a book until I fell asleep, without realizing I left the lights on. I'm so smart, aren't I?

Time skip to morning! Ain't that right Mr. Teddy? *talks in baby voice to stuffed bear*

I woke up to the blinding lights, from both the sun and the room lights that I forgot to turn off. I groaned and turned the lights off, throwing on a black and white striped shirt, black training pants, and my famous black leather jacket and boots. They're my precious... Enough of that Gollum nonsense, I walked out my bedroom door, my gun and sword in their sheaths, with my knife up my sleeve, as always. When I walked down the stairs, expecting everyone eating happily, I saw a group of new recruits that were trashing the place. That group was three boys, one with black hair and brown eyes, another with blonde hair and blue eyes, and the last with brown hair and blue eyes. I walked over to the havoc wreaking.. Things, and tapped them on the shoulders.

"Excuse me, but that's not where the new recruits are supposed to sit." I said, getting a weird look from one of the guys. Specifically the blondie.

"Who cares? It's not like it's going to make a difference, 'corporal.' The black haired one said, putting air quotes on the  word 'corporal.'

"Don't compare me to that idiot, you idiots." I rolled my eyes. They rolled their eyes back and I flicked them each, with all my strength, on their foreheads. They stumbled back in disbelief and shock, as if they were surprised in how much strength I had. Sexist much? The brunette made an attempt to punch me in the face, but I caught it on the last second and kicked him in the stomach. I flipped my hair and stared at the boys in disgust. "I'm saying this one more time, this isn't where the new recruits are supposed to sit. Bunch of idiots.." I said with disgust still in my voice. They silently walked to where they were supposed to sit, glaring at me. I got my glorious food and took my seat, flipping my hair once more as Lyon walked in.

"As all of you may have noticed, there are some new recruits this morning." Lyon explained. Well yeah duh, it's quite obvious that there are new recruits, they were the monstrous things that messed the place up! "They may be quite a handful," Lyon continued. Yeah no kidding. "But I see the potential in them and I know they will be great in protecting the helpless." He finished. I stood up from my seat and was about to say something, until the brunette walked up to Lyon. A rebel I see? Let's see how this turns out. I sat back down and watched this play out.

"I challenge you, Lyon." The brunette said with a serious expression, his eyes sparkling with determination. "If I win, I will become the new corporal and everyone must obey me, and only me. If you win then you get to do whatever you want to me." He said, everyone staring at him in shock while thinking he's a psycho maniac. I only just sat there. I expected this from someone like him, with so much cockiness. He better have a good reason for this. While all the craziness was going on, I ate my food quickly until everyone went outside the guild and was going to watch Lyon and that brunette dude spar. I got up from my seat, groaning from not being able to eat my food. I watched as they sparred. That new recruit isn't that bad as I thought he would be. He's fast and agile, and I'm sure I saw Lyon with a troubled face for a second there. After a while though, Lyon blocked and dodged all the attacks the brunette threw at him. The brunette looked frustrated, but soon stopped his attacks, as if waiting for the perfect moment. Lyon took the chance blindly, and headed for a strong and swift kick in the stomach. The brunette grabbed Lyon's ankle, twisting it around causing Lyon to be flipped on the ground. Lyon's green uniform with our guild's crest on it got covered in grass stains and dirt. I was shocked. No one was able to take down Lyon. Well, some of the strongest never tried, including me because we didn't want to accidentally become the new Corporal.

"Ha! Take that Lyon!" The brunette said, smirking with delight.

"Tch. You're still an idiot anyway.." I muttered under my breath.

"What'd you say?" One of the brunette's comrades said threateningly. I flipped my hair and gave him a 'don't mess with me brat!' look and he backed off. Lyon  got up from the ground, looking at me for a reason I don't know. His eyes looked like he was pleading me to fight the brunette, but I can't yet. I have to wait for the perfect time. We all went inside, me happy to be able to get back to my food. I was upset that it went cold though. What a waste of such perfect food. Breakfast wasn't very peaceful though. The new corporal was going wild and trashing the guild again with his comrades. I silently ate my food as they stomped around on tables.

"Hey lady!" I heard that annoying brunette's voice yell. I turned my head and stood up. "You're gonna pay for what you did earlier, you brat!" He yelled, his voice full of cockiness.

"Oh I'm sorry you stupid, idiotic, filthy, gross, inhumane thing." I smirked.

"You're the one who's stupid and idiotic, how dare you disrespect the corporal!" He yelled, not very intimidating.

"So? Not like I care, you were disrespectful to Lyon. Yeah sure I'm disrespectful against him sometimes, but that's only because I want to protect my guild when he makes a dumb move, and right now, you're making dumb moves all over the place." I scoffed, rolling my eyes. "Plus, you're breaking every single rule in the rule book of being the corporal." I finished, looking at my nails.

"There's a rule book?" The brunette asked, shocked.

"Yes you idiot! How stupid can you get?!" I exclaimed, flipping my hair once more. The brunette groaned in frustration, and soon. *smack.* everyone gasped when he slapped me, straight across the face. "Idiot. You made the wrong move.." I growled, a dark aura appearing around me as my eyes turn from 'innocent' to 'deadly.' I picked him up by the collar of his shirt, soon throwing him across the guild. From the dust he gets up, limping on his leg. "I'm surprised you've managed to survive." I smirked, walking towards him as I cracked my hands. The brunette wipes his face and makes for a punch in my face. I do a roundhouse to block his attack, and then kick him in the stomach while pressure pointing him in the neck. He drops to the ground as soon as I pressure point him, where he finally admits his defeat. I flip my hair as my boiling blood cools down and my eyes turn 'innocent' again. I walk away until cheers erupt. I stopped in my tracks. I realized I just accidentally became the Corporal. I mentally groan, smiling weakly on the outside. Being the Corporal is a lot of work, and I'm too lazy for all that work! URGH THIS IS SO ANNOYING!
