Never have I ever been so completely smitten with someone. Especially someone as beautiful as my Diana. My Diana. I still can't get over the fact that she's mine. Just a few months ago I was the unsocial, nerd with glasses. Now I was more confident, loving and playful than ever. All thanks to my Diana.

How had I never noticed her before? Was I too wrapped up in my self-pity and problems that I overlooked the sweetest person on the whole planet earth? Or were we both just too shy and unnoticeable to see each other. It doesn't matter now. What matters now is that we have each other, and that's all I need.

All I need is that gorgeous smile of hers to get me out of a funk. All I need are those dark, eyes to draw me back to her. Her soft, sweet honey like voice so calm and comforting to help chase away those demons that still haunt my mind. This girl brought out the best in me, helping me conquer any obstacle in my path.

We saved each other. She's my rock. The thing that keeps me sane. I'm her protector. The one to keep her safe and secured. As she calls me, her knight in shining armour. We're everything to each other and I'm so grateful that we met. I'll always remember that day. That fateful day that changed my life for the better.

I was walking down the hall of Riverview High. It was a small school with about fifty students. Yeah, small. We only had one building and it was shaped like a T intersection. Lockers lined the left side of the wall and on the right pictures of graduating classes from past years. Up ahead was the big classroom and a few more lockers on the walls facing it.

I was minding my business, as usual, when I heard the familiar sound of a body colliding with the lockers. At first I assumed it was just Brendan, the school's bully, picking on Marcel, again. But when I turned the corner what I saw disgusted me, even more so than usual.

There, on the floor, with her back against the lockers was a girl. Her bun was messed up and a look of pure terror overcame her soft features. Her eyes were filled with panic and dread, like she knew she was about to be beaten to a bloody pulp. Her eyes squeezed shut as she waited for the blow.

Now we all knew Brendan was a jerk, but he would never beat someone up, especially a girl. He reveled in the idea of being top dog, a tough guy. He only pushed people into the lockers and threaten them to feel powerful. He never had the guts to follow through on it because he was a baby. So why was she waiting for him to beat her? She looked like she had been through it before and that stirred something inside of me. I didn't want to see her hurt, ever.

A man should never hurt a woman. Women were meant to be treated like queens. They shouldn't be treated like a piece of crap. Which was exactly how Brendan was treating her right now.

Anger took over and I marched right up to him and landed an uppercut right into his jaw.

"Don't you ever hurt her again!" I yelled. "If I catch you picking on her or any other girl I'll give you more that a bruised face!"

My knuckles hurt and I felt like I hit a brick wall. I ignored the pain and flexed my fingers trying to get rid of it. I bent down and collected the papers the girl had dropped not waiting to see Brendan's reaction. I dared a glance at her and she had a shocked look on her face. Then, slowly, a shy, grateful smile grew on her face and I had to look away. She was beautiful when she smiled.

I stood up and put her papers on top of my stack of books. She was still on the floor just watching me, which made me self consciously fix my glasses. I offered her my hand. She gladly accepted and boy was she short. I was taller than her by at least a good foot. Her head barely passed my stomach.

She wore grey boots that stopped just below her knee with black leggings and a short, loose black skirt. Her shirt reminded me of something my nerdy, little sister would wear. It was a faded blue pullover with a stack of books. On top of the book was a cat in wide rimmed glasses like mine holding a cup of coffee in its paws. I couldn't stop the smile that formed from my face. She blushed and tucked a loose strand of hair into her bun. She was utterly adorable.
