"So is it like a date?" Auntie Christina asked as she shoveled another piece of her famous, banana nut bread into her mouth.
I wish!
"No Auntie, he just wants to hang out," I responded as I finished buttoning my shirt.
Auntie Christina was by far the greatest aunt in the world, at least that's what the mug I got her says. She was the only other person I told about my dad, second to Niall, and as soon as she found out she moved out here and took me in. She was only twenty-five and left her job as a personal chef for a rich family in New York to come and take care of me. She's the only blood family I have left and I was grateful for her sacrifice.
Of course her finding a new job here wasn't difficult being a well renowned chef and all. She opened up a little bakery that is the bomb.com. Sugar Shack Bakery is the name and it's the cutest, little place ever. Well back to my current sitiation.
I had no idea where Liam was taking me. At school today he came up to me and asked if we could hang out tonight. I said yes and he said, "Great! I have something amazing planned for tonight."
Cue the butterflies. How can one guy be so adorable? I just don't understand.
So I dressed casual. I wore my pink and white plaid shirt with a loose, grey knee length skirt. I slipped into my white flats and braided my hair to the side.
"How do I look?" I asked and striked a funny pose. My aunt giggled before inspecting me.
"Hmmm, maybe we should try this," she said before setting down her cup of coffee. She took out her beautiful flower headband and gently placed it on my head. "Better."
I looked in the mirror by the front door. I didn't look too bad. Maybe with a bit of makeup I would look better, but I have no idea how to handle the stuff. My mom and her sisters never used it, so I didn't.
There was a loud, firm knock and I jumped. He's here!
"Omgosh what do I do!?" I whisper screamed in nervousness. All I wanted to do was run back upstairs and hide.
"Breathe," she giggled as she rested her hands on my shoulders. I took a deep breath.
"Good?"
"Great!" I responded with a smile.
I went to open the door and there was Liam, handsome as ever. He wore a light blue button up with the sleeves rolled up and a pair of jeans. I smiled and blushed, something I can't stop doing around him.
"Hello," he greeted and I responded with a shaky hello. Ugh, why does he make me so nervous. I get all worked up not trying to embarrass myself in front of him and I end up doing the exact thing I didn't want to do.
"Ready to go?" He asked. I nodded and we climbed into his truck. The bed was covered with a top and during the whole ride I couldn't stop wondering what was in it.
"It's a surprise," he said. Ok, can this dude read minds or something?
"And if you're wondering no I can't read your mind." I sent him a playful glare and he started laughing. He eased my nerves and I was slowly losing my when-you-first-meet-someone mask and started being myself.
"Nice truck," I said after a few moments of comfortable silence.
"Thanks it's my dad's. I don't have a car yet."
"Yet?" I questioned.
"Mhm," he nodded his eyes briefly leaving the roads to meet mine.
