Chapter 21: Confession

{Fionna's POV}

(Fionna's 16)

"Fio, wake up!" Marshall woke me up. I just closed my eyes and tried to fall back asleep.

"Go away. I'm tired, an it's night." I said, resting my head on my hands.

"C'mon, Fi! Just wake up!!!" He lifted me by my arm, and out the window.

"MARSHALL!" I screamed, being so high from the ground.

"Awww is little baby Mertens scared of heights?" He said, in a puppy voice. URGGGH. I picked up my other arm and swung at him, no use. He dodged it.

"Marshall, where are you taking me?" I asked. He shrugged.

"I don't know." He said, truthfully. SERIOUSLY, MARSHALL?

"WHAT??? MARSHALL! You don't even know where you're taking me? And you woke me up?!" I yelled. He snickered.

"Pretty much." He said, chillaxfully. I just sighed, releasing my anger. He does things like this all the time.

"Well can I atleast get up?" I asked, giving him the puppy dog eyes. He lightly chuckled.

"Sure, Fi." He grabbed my other arm and threw me in the air. I did one of those dramatic back flips and landed on his back. He had turned into his huge bat form.

"So do you even have an idea of where we should go?" I asked. He shrugged.

"Just wherever." He said. Okay...

"Oh look!" I pointed at a crystal looking pond. It was quite beautiful.

"Sure..." He said. He landed near it and turned to regular Marshall. I went near the pond, and he followed. We were both sitting by the pond, when all of a sudden, he poked me.

"Gee, you always have to find a way to ruin the moment. Don't ya?" I asked, jokingly.

"Ooh, we had a 'moment'?" He said, elbowing me, lightly.

"Not that way!" I pushed him. He laughed.

"Okay, okay. I was only kidding." He said. I lightly blushed. Why was I blushing? Oh ya. Stupid crush.

"Marshall. I need to tell you something. To get it... Off my chest." I said. Glob, Fionna. Why'd you say that? Oh well, might as well just go with it.

"Okay..." He said, uneasily.

"Marshall, I, well I, love you..." I said. He blushed and his jaw dropped. Oh glob, Fionna. I mentally face palmed.

"Fi, I-" I cut him off by a gentle kiss. He pushed me off. "Fionna!" He said, sadness in his eyes.

"I'm sorry, Marshall..." I said. Embarrassment turned into sadness, quickly.

"No, Fio. It's okay. Don't be sorry. But I just... Don't feel the same way. I love you, as a friend." He said. Sadness flooded throughout me. I wanted to cry, but not in front of him. I ran away, as fast as possible. To the Candy Kingdom, I burst inside PG's room.

"Oh Gumball!" I said, tears flooding from my eyes. He quickly woke up, being nighttime.

"Fionna! What?" He asked, pulling me to him.

"M-Marshall said h-he didn't l-love me back! P-please m-make him love me-e back!" I said, still crying. He patted my head.

"I'll see what I can do..." He said, beginning to think.
