Grits for breakfast. Yuck. I rather have oatmeal and bacon but I guess this would have to do since my mom made it. Don't get me wrong I love my mothers cooking but these grits, just not my favorite.
"GoodMorning Aria." My mom came back in the kitchen while I fixed my plate. "You're up later than usual."
"Hi mom. I got home pretty late then couldn't fall asleep for a while."
"Did you have fun?" Either she knows something I don't know or something shes not suppose to know.
"Yeah, I did. We went out for pizza and just goofed around talking, telling jokes."
"Mike said Carter was in the mix." Oh yeah that's it. "I'm glad you guys are getting along well so it won't be to much awkwardness when he moves in."
"Um me being the only child, it will be quite awkward having another teen here. That's a male species."
"Oh come on Aria. It's like having your cousins over. Wouldn't it be fun to have somebody over with you while we're at work."
"Madey is always here." I poured myself a cup of orange juice.
"Other than Madey. You need more friends." She sat at the counter sounding 'concern'.
"Alright mom. Sure." I grabbed my cup of juice with my plate heading towards my room. "Oh and we're going out again later today."
"Okay. I'm running errands today."
"Okay."
Seems to me as though my mom and Mike have different views on wether I should get close to Carter or stay away from him. Shouldn't it be my decision? Oh forget it I'll just eat my bacon. Besides I have a few days before he moves into my space. 'Let's make the most of it Aria.' My mind thought as I kicked my feet up on the desk next to my food.
Then of course there was a knock. Doesn't anyone around here get tired of talking!
"Come in!" I groaned. I have been very irritable lately.
"Morning Aria, I'm headed out to get some stuff for when Carter come tomorrow. Your mother-"
"Wait tomorrow? I thought he was coming later in the week!"
"Uh no. Tomorrow. I'm dropping your mom off so you'll be here alone most of the day."
"Cool Michael. Cool." He closed the door and left.
Wow. What a freakin' morning.

After breakfast I decided to take a nice long shower while blasting music from my room. It felt so good to wash my hair, like getting rid of thoughts with shampoo.
As I'm drying my hair with a t-shirt the doorbell rings. It's only about one o'clock and we aren't suppose to be going out until around three. Who could that be? Madey hasn't called me or text me so it's not her. Who ever it is better be lucky I'm coming to the door because one of my favorite one direction songs just came on. I was literally prepared to perform it in my mirror, with a brush, jumping around. Peeping through the peep hole there stood Carter in the cold air. Even though I can clearly see who it is I asked the question anyway.
"Who is it?"
"Uh it's Carter." I opened the door with the bat on my shoulder.
"Yes?"
"You're in a towel with a bat? What if it fell while you were swinging?" He smirked showing his cute dimple in the process. Then I realized I'm really in my towel and slippers in front of my crush. Holy Moly!
