Chapter 16: I Have to Hear it From Him

After 2 days of continuous hospital tests..

"He's a very lucky man. You girls can take him home tomorrow." The Doctor said.

"He just need to take up his maintenance regularly and please make sure that he don't skip taking it. and another thing, he needs to come back next month for some therapy." He continued.

"That's good to hear doctor." Joanne said.

"Can we go and check him up now?" I asked.

"Of course. go ahead. he's all yours." The doctor replied.

I quickly open up my dad's room.

"H-Hannah.." My dad spoke as soon as he saw me.

"D-Daddy?" I was still unsure of the words I'm saying.

This is the first time I'm calling someone "daddy" again, after how many years.

He was teary-eyed when he called my name. He open up his arms and gestured me to come nearer.

Without any hesitations, I ran to him and gave him a hug.

"I was longing for this." I said.

"I-I'm sorry baby.." He apologized.

"It's okay dad. I forgive you. What important now is that you're better and we could finally spend time together." I said.

"No more crying please." I wiped off his tears.

"Sorry. You're dad's a crybaby." He said.

"Enough with your apologies dad." I chuckled.

"What's so funny." He asked.

"Nothing. I just like it when I call you dad." I answered.

"Sorr-- I mean, I'll make it up to you hannah. I really wanted to talk to you for years but it--" I interrupted him.

"Dad.. Pshh. I completely understand. Don't stress yourself too much okay? Joanne told me everything." I said.

Joanne went inside the room.

"Dad!" Joanne kissed dad on cheeks.

"Joanne.."Dad said.

"Thank you so much Joanne for bringing your sister here." My dad said.

"I told you dad. She'll accept and understand everything." Joanne said.

"Yes. I'm so lucky to have you two." My dad hugged us both.

It is really overwhelming that suddenly I already have a family. All these years I've been with Eli, Mary and Sheryl and they are the only family that I can consider. Now I have my dad. and joanne.

I felt really blessed. I found my father. He was saved. I got a sister. I still have my cousins and of course I got Travis. Now my only problem is Lawrence.

The next day, we went homw with dad.

"It's good to be back." Dad said.

He was sitting at his bedside and I sat beside him.

"We have to follow everything that the doctor advice us to do. okay?" I said.

"Yes yes. My pretty nurse." dad responded.

"Of course. I got your lips and nose." I said.

"That's the first thing I noticed too when I first saw you after long years." He said.

"When you came back from Singapore, I came to see you." He continued.

"Then you should've saw the 3 girls I was living with." I said.
