 ELSA

I was waiting eagerly to talk to him but was stopped by my mom.

"I don't think it's important, Let's enclose this by exchanging the rings, and then we can invite everyone to the grand party to announce this. What do you say?" she asked as if everyone was going to object to it.

Did I hear it wrong? Exchanging Rings? What! Am I getting engaged to a stranger? No, please wake up El, it's just a dream. WAKE UP!

I stood up immediately, and the guy, his mum, stood.

When I was about to say I noticed my mum pressing my hand indicating not to open my mouth. I couldn't believe she knew I was not comfortable getting married, yet she chose to do this. Is she even my mom?

 Is she even my mom?

We exchanged rings. I was staring at him all the while, I wanted to talk to him, just wanted to tell him I was not interested in this marriage. I wanted to cry so severely, that I was holding it back. When everyone left, I ran to my room. I can hear my mum calling my name, I'm not in a state to talk to her, I might Explode and I don't know what I would do. I wanted to be alone, I closed my room door with a bang and locked it so no one could open it. I jumped on my bed and started crying and shouted as much as I could until my throat became sore, didn't stop crying, and I cried till there was no tear. I never cried in my life like this, being a single child I was bullied a lot and people hurt me a lot through their words, but I had mum backing me up. Today she broke me, My mum broke me! The Person who made me strong broke me. I woke up. I don't have any idea when I even fell asleep.

"What time is it?" The room is completely dark, and I'm drenched in sweat, was looking for my phone just to see the time.

"Here it is." Since it was pitch dark, by touching it noticed it wasn't the phone.

"It's not the phone, it's the AC remote. Where did I keep my phone? Gotcha"

"What 11:45?" midnight?

"My head hurts." Let out a sigh, and noticed my engagement ring, It didn't feel right. I don't want to waste any more tears crying about this. I'm not going to get married. I need to put an end to this. I need to think straight first. What can I do? They are not going to listen to me if I say I'm not interested. If they had listened to me in the first place, I wouldn't be here thinking about a solution. I closed my eyes as I couldn't get any idea how to end this Marriage. I need help and should inform Aria about this, I turned on the Wi-Fi, and I heard multiple notification sounds from my phone, the notification was from Ryan.

The text reads

'Tried reaching but couldn't get hold of you.'

'Are you okay, baby Doll?'

'Call me.'

'I haven't received a text from Morning. What are you doing?'

'Busy?'

'Want to grab ice cream?'

'I'm boarding the flight. Will be there at midnight. Be ready.'

A tear rolled down my cheeks, At least I have him. My phone chimed with a notification again.

"I'm outside" I read his text, peeked from my window, and noticed his car was on the corner of the road. Left a small giggle and opened my window and got down slowly. I have done it many times since high school, he has been always there for me. No matter how many fights I get into in school, college, or at home, he is the one who lightens me up. At times, I even wonder how he knows, because I don't even share many things with my family.

I got down slowly using the ladder that had always been there near my window and has also been a great help for me to get down. Got in the car and sat in the passenger seat.

"So I heard you got engaged? Is it True?" he asked.

A small tear rolled down my cheeks. I couldn't answer the question because I had always dreamed of getting married, but not by force.

"I'm sorry" that's all I could say to him. "I'm sorry Brother. I didn't know this would happen. Please help me. I don't want to get married. I don't want to. If I get married, then I have left with no option, but just to die."

"Elsa! What are you saying? Think before you speak! Don't even dare to say the word die again. We can fight this, I will speak to my aunt, I'll say that you are not interested." he shouted.

I laughed, "Do you think she doesn't know that I'm not interested?"

"Does she know?" he asked. I nodded my head.

"Why is she doing this? Did Uncle know about this? What about my Dad?" he asked.

"I don't know, but your mum was there."

"Yeah, She called me and asked me and dad to come here ASAP"

So Aunt called Ryan and Dada. Now I understand why she didn't say anything throughout the engagement.

"Love you Ryan." gave him a tight hug.

"Love you too, baby girl." he hugged me back.

We reached our favourite ice cream shop, we ordered one chocolate chip ice cream and one blackcurrant. My all-time favourite chocolate chip ice cream, but I love to steal a few bites from his blackcurrant. We laughed, and he shared the funny moments he experienced while he was on his business trip to London.

"Baby girl?"

"Yes?"

"Why don't you leave this place and go somewhere else."

"You mean my house?"

"NO. Leave India, go somewhere, and chase your dreams.

"You mean 'me' leaving my home and going to another country?" I started laughing because this won't work.

"Stop laughing and tell me what's wrong with the idea?"

"What's wrong? Everything. I can't just walk out of my house if I do, they won't accept me back, and I never lived alone in my entire life. I was always occupied with people around me and I don't think I will be able to" I told him, and he knows about it too.

He just gave me a death glare.

"Now you are going to kill me with your look?" he shook his head saying no and he sighed.

"Baby girl, there is only one option. You have to leave this place. If you don't want to leave, then get married."

I stayed quiet, I didn't know what to say. We both ate our ice cream quietly. He started the engine and drove to my place. Once the engine stopped, I knew we reached our house. When I opened my mouth to ask him a question, he said, "Think about it, baby girl." I went to my room the way I came.
