Ben wasn't the only who had played part in the disappearance of the Jedi Master. He had an accomplice. Rey. She was one who had summoned all the Padawans to their lair. The force was strong with her and with Ben on her side, they were as strong as Master Luke together.
They knew what they wanted to do. They had both been summoned by Snoke in the absence of Luke. Though, they knew that at a time, there could be only one master and one apprentice of the Sith. They would take care of that . Rey was to train under Kylo's hand while he trained under Snoke's. She was to be a Jedi on the dark side. Not a Sith. If one were to leave, the other would take the place under Snoke.
They were in an unspoken commitment. They fit each other like gloves and knew every move of the other. At least that is what he thought. She was committed. He would be her teacher. And when they had learned all that there was to learn, they would escape to the Outer Rims. That is what he wanted. She wanted to bring a Dark Order to the Galaxy. Raise a new Orderfrom the remains of the Shattered Empire.
After they had massacred the Padawans who had come to their lair, they set out to search for those who had escaped. They went separate ways in search. They had learned a few tips from Master Luke. They could feel the fear and confusion of the Padawans spreading through the force. They were smarter than most. And soon the last Padawan had been killed. When Rey was returning, she sensed the presence of her Master and prepared herself for a battle. But before she could even see him, she began to slip away, everything around her darkened and she fell. This of course, was Luke's doing.
He had sensed what was going on and was horrified. Luke picked her up in his arms and ran . He knew that Ben would soon sense what had happened and come running. He knew he didn't have the strength to fight his nephew. He could never fight him.
He boarded his ship and took off. He then asked the pilot to take him to Endor. He went back to Rey. When he saw her lying so peacefully, for a moment he almost forgot what she had done. He went and crouched down beside her. He took out her lightsaber and never had it been so terrifyingly cold. He kept her lightsaber in his coat and performed the Jedi mind oblivion. He couldn't bear to look at his best pupil turning to the dark side.He also knew that someday, she would have to face her destiny. She would have to be what she was born to become. But that would wait. He could feel Kylo's anger creating shockwaves. He knew he would expect him to go to Endor.
It was no longer safe. He asked the pilot to take him to a planet, Jakku, on the borders of the Outer Rim.When he reached, he asked Unkar Plutt, an old friend of Han's to look after Rey. In return, he would ask Han to give him money. Unkar Plutt was greedy, but he owed Han and Luke one. Therefore, he agreed. But only after he was promised the Millenium Falcon. Han wasn't going to like it, but there was no other option. He gave Rey a kiss on the forehead and said his final words to her, " May the force be with you, my child." and as soon as he said that her eyes fluttered open.
Luke couldn't bear to say another goodbye and turned back. As his ship took off, he could hear her screams, begging him to come back. He held back his tears and after thinking long and hard, he only saw one way out- Exile.
