I woke up.
Everything looked so strange, so new. I couldn’t recognise any of it! It was very dark, but what I could see looked very expensive, like somewhere only a billionaire would live.
“Oh, my head...” I groaned, partly turning away from what I saw so that I could put my hand on my head to try and ease the pain.
“Master Wayne, I believe that your friend is awake,” an elegant, male voice called to another. Master Wayne? No, it couldn’t be. I was going crazy. I was always going crazy! At least that’s what everyone always said to me...
“How are you feeling?” a man asked me and she sat himself on the end of the couch I was lying on. I froze; the jet black hair, the piercing blue eyes, that tone in his voice. It was.
It was Bruce Wayne.
“Uh... uh... uh... I’m f-fine...” I stuttered, feeling like all my dinner was about to be thrown up.
“I’m sorry for what happened to your parents,” he apologised, placing a comforting hand on my shoulder, just like everyone else I knew did. After a while, it was starting to feel like it didn’t mean anything.
“What? What h-happened?” I asked, quite puzzled before I remembered the sight that I had witnessed.
The sight that I wished had never happened...
“Why am I here?” My voice was soft and full of sadness, it was easy to tell. You didn’t have to be the world’s greatest detective to figure that out. But, either way, he was.
“The Joker found you and your family. He was about to kidnap you, but luckily Tim and I came in and-“ Bruce started explaining before I cut him off midsentence, too intrigued about the fact that Robin was there.
“Did you say you and Tim?” I asked, trying to sound as nonchalant as I could, especially mentioning Robin, but my voice betrayed me slightly and I think Mr. Wayne noticed.
“Yes, I did. You’re safe now,” he assured me, raising an eyebrow slightly when he told me that he did mention Tim.
As I continued conversing with Bruce, a boy about my age, perhaps a little bit older, came bounding in, looking slightly excited. I could feel my head heating up, soon followed by every other part of my body. My hand were shivering and my heart was singing its own merry tune as I realised who it was.
“Tim, this is Emerald Daniels. Emerald, this is Timothy Drake,” Bruce introduced us, looking between the two of us. As Tim thrust his hand forward, my eyes widened, unsure of what to do or say. My heart was going crazy. He’s not that hot... He’s not that hot... He’s not that hot... Who am I kidding? He’s so goddamn sexy!
With thoughts like that running through my mind, I just stared into his perfect eyes, zoning out from everything around me.
“Are you alright?” he asked me, thrusting his hand further forward so that I would notice it. Yes, noticing his hand may not have been such a bad idea.
“Oh, yeah... I’m fine. Sorry...” I apologised, blushing profusely.
Well, that turned out well. I batted my eyelashes and looked off to my right, then at Bruce Wayne and finally, again at Tim. I forgot that everything was new to me, so I tried standing to take it all in, but landed flat on my rear on the floor.
“...Ow,” I muttered, hoping no one would hear me. I thought wrong.
A gentle hand wrapped around my arm, helping me back to my feet. Looking to my left, I saw Tim holding onto me, smirking ever so slightly. I could have fainted at that, but I managed to stand my ground, despite everything around me spinning out of control. Tears started falling again, getting me annoyed. I was not usually a very emotional person at all, but lately, I had been crying like a girl who was extremely hormonal!
