I snuck around the nearest tent and felt the ground rumble. I started running but saw a dumb creature just standing there looking up at death itself. Everyone rushed past me and most stood clear of me as they noticed who I was.
I was someone to be feared, no emotion, no care in the world for the people I had harmed. It was all a lie. My step-father made me seem so horrible by giving me strength and treating me so poorly. I might not show emotion, but I definitely felt it. I never liked hurting others, and I promise I won't hurt anyone ever again if I make it through this.
It crashed into the ground and everything went white and then black. I woke up in a desert plain and the only vegetation I saw was a small patch that lied far in the distance. I turned my head when I sensed the presence of another Drajeon. I struggled to stand, but the only way of standing that felt comfortable was being on my hind legs which were now covered with a strange brown cloth. I akwordly walked up to the dumb creature who looked as if she didn't even bother to run... she... oh no... a girl. Girls annoy me in a way that is unexplainable. She seemed to be covered in cloth as well. She didn't look half bad in them. AAAGH! How dare I think of such things! Ugh... I'm only 5 and I'm already saying big words .
She looked hopeless. I could not have just left her there on her own... I walked away. I got a few feet away from the grassy patch when I felt something. It was something telling me to go back. I noticed my mistake. If I left her there she would be alone, all by herself, like me. I couldn't let that happen. I ran back as fast as I could only to find her still asleep. It wasn't going to be easy, but I had to get her into some shade where she would be safe.
I picked her up and she was surprisingly light. She was still limp and the only reason I knew she was alive was because she was breathing, but other than that I would have immediately thought her soul left to the spirit world. She seemed a little warmer than normal Drajeons, but I ignored it at the time since I thought that she could have had a cold or something. Her having a cold would explain why she didn't get very far. There was one thing that confused me though; she slept silently except for the soft sound of her breathe, but how could she be so silent if she had a cold? This girl was confusing me without saying a single word.
I finally got back to the grassy patch and placed her under the big Koa tree that rested close to the middle of the patch.
Koa trees where always big and beautiful; the trunks were always round and bulbous near the bottom, and then twined into many different branches near the top. They were a rare sight for me though, my step-father hated them and burned every Koa tree he saw.
I had sat next to her but at a distance, I wouldn't have wanted her to feel so unsafe. A growing fear pierced through me as I thought of how she would react if she figured out who I was. Then when I thought it couldn't have gotten any worse.. she started waking up. She shifted, rubbed her eyes, and sat up. She looked into the desert and paused for a moment, then turned towards me. She flew backwards and her reaction scared me but I tried my best to stay calm. I didn't expect her to hold a face like that and her position was quite sturdy. After a while she sat up again and I relaxed. She kept staring at me. I was getting uncomfortable.
She finally spoke up after a while "H-how did I get here?". Oh no, questions. I had to think fast or she would keep asking. "I carried you here." IDIOT! She was going to ask more questions even if I didn't answer fast. "Uhhh... How old are you?" She asked. Is that even relevant to your situation? Is that question important right now? Girls are confusing. "5" I answered blaintantly. Wow John, you are very descriptive today. "My birthday is May 18th in the year of 201." I piped up so she would give me a break from questions.
I stood up and held out my hand to help her up. We couldn't stay here forever, we had to find more survivers, we were too young to be on our own. She grabbed my hand and as I was pulling her up my hand began to sting and burn with an excruciating pain. I immediately let go and she fell to the floor. I grabbed my burned hand with my other and rubbed my palm. I looked at my hand and expected to see a giant burn... MY SKIN! My skin has never been visible! I had to keep a straight face to hide all feelings. My skin was now visible, I'm done for, I will be found out! Why did it burn? Who is she? She can't be sick! I have a weakness! If she finds out who I am I'm dead! "WHAT WAS THAT FOR?" The girl yelled. I flinched and turned my head towards her. I was terrified... can't show feeling, can't show feeling! She looked at her hand as if she didn't know her power. "That burned." I tried to say under my breath. Please don't tell me that had emotion. She could seriously hurt me if she wanted to. "Jeez nimrod, maybe you should show a little emotion so I can tell if your actually in pain!" She said hardhly. AHHHHHH WHY WOULD I? grrr we need to get her out of here and out of my life. I gave her a stern look and spoke in a stern tone "Just get up. Sitting here isn't gonna get us anywhere." She snapped back "Who said I was going to go anywhere?" Girl, you have gotten on my last nerve. "Where are we going to go?" She asked in a concerned voice. *sigh* your trying to mess with my brain and my heart, aren't you. "We're going somewhere safer." I reassured her and she stood up. Here we go... I guess.
