Recap from Chapter Twelve:

I open my eyes to the light of the day and stretch out my arms, gaping my mouth in a yawn.

I look over to see that Victoria wasn't sleeping next to me, so I figured that she was in the bathroom.

I stand up and walk over to the bathroom, knocking lightly. There's no answer, so I peer through the crack to see that's she's not there.

I frown and continue my search. I pad off into the kitchen, expecting her to be brewing some coffee, but my accusations are incorrect.

Okay, now I'm worried.

I dart off and search my entire apartment over three times, and she's not anywhere to be found.

The last place I have any hopes for finding her in is her apartment, so I dash down the hallway, open the door to her apartment, and surprisingly, it's unlocked. A flame of hope ignites in my heart and I step into her apartment.

"Hello? Vic, are you here?" I call out, searching around her apartment. And no, I'm not snooping.

My eyes flicker around her apartment and I search endlessly. Victoria is no where to be seen and my heart plummets into a dark void that lays inside of me.

Victoria, where the hell are you?

*the previous night*

The comfort of Toby's arms around me has managed to lull me to sleep until there is loud footsteps in the hall.

I flip over gently to see Toby still sleeping, so I assume that he's a heavy sleeper. Lucky bastard.

I wiggle my way out from Toby's protecting grasp and set on the edge of the bed, making sure not to send waves through the mattress that would possibly wake him.

I run my hands over my face and squeeze my eyes shut, then opening them wide. There's a few light knocks on the door and I groan silently, making my way over to the door. I look through the peeping hole, or whatever you want to call it, and scan the hallway.

This is peculiar since I see nobody in the halls.

It was probably a bunch of teenagers roaming the halls.

I pad over into the kitchen and open the fridge, the light cascading up into the room, lighting the walls and ceiling. I cringe, thinking Toby has woken up. I peek around the corner to see that he's still sleeping.

I sigh in relief and grab a glass of milk before heading back into bed. Just as I'm about to sit down and get ready to go back to sleep, the teenagers decide to knock again on some random strangers door at...

2:47 am?! Okay, those little kids are going to pay now; I'm pissed.

I stand up once more and walk over to the door, swinging it open violently, yet, making sure that it's silent.

I storm into the hallway, looking down both ends. Oddly, I see nothing. I scoff quietly and peer into the apartment, and can I just say?; thank God. Toby's still sleeping somehow.

I take a step into the apartment when something smashes on the back of my head and my mind goes blank as I collapse to the floor.

The apartment is in a huge blur until everything fades to black.

*present time*

Oh God. Okay, I'm not freaking out. It's just that my girlfriend is missing and she's neither at her place or mine, but it's cool, I'm chill.

. . . . .

NO, I'M NOT FUCKING CHILL!

I run my hand through my hair and pull on it, biting my lip to help myself from shouting. I try my best to calmly walk back to my apartment, but it ends up as a half jog, half limping thing.

I walk into my apartment and rush to find my phone, my mind in a buzz. My phone is resting on the desk next to my laptop.

I pick it up, and I fumble with the numbers. I eventually get her number into my phone and click call.

It rings over twenty times before her voicemail message goes off.

Hey, this is Victoria- and Toby! Well, I'm busy right now, so call me back! Ba-duh-duh-do-do-do-do-do-do do call back!

I smile and laugh a little bit at the message we'd made together and I hear the beep go off.

"Hey, uh Vic? I woke up and you weren't there, so I went to your apartment and you weren't there either so... uh... call me back, please. I'm really worried." I pull the phone from my ear and press the pad of my thumb to the end call button.

I begin to pace around the apartment. When I pass the nightstand on the side of the bed Victoria slept in, I see a sliver of white. I look more closely to see a folded piece of paper.

I pick it up and unfold it, reading quickly.

Oh God, no. No.

Victoria's P.O.V.

"Hey, uh Vic? I woke up and you weren't there, so I went to your apartment and you weren't there either so... uh... call me back, please. I'm really worried."

"What's this about?" he thunders, his green eyes staring down at me.

"It's my boyfriend, so what?" I shoot back, glaring at him and spitting at his feet.

His hand whips across my face and a loud cracking sound is heard.

"Your boyfriend?!" he hisses violently before I narrow my eyes at him.

"Untie my fucking hands, unless you're scared of me beating the shit out of you!" I scream, thrashing. My hands are currently tied behind my back and my feet are tied to the legs ot the chair I'm sitting in.

He waggles his finger in front of my nose and I glare into his eyes.

"Let. Me. Go." I say barely above a whisper, a puff of breath causing a cloud to form around it.

A laugh falls past his lips and his eyes are gleaming.

"Ace, please."
