As you made it to the top floor of the school, you were face to face with the door blocking you from your fate. This isn't the first time you have tried to break onto the roof. It was always locked, but you knew a few tricks to change that. You turned to look at the wall next to the door and pulled a bit of the wallpaper off. As it came off, you saw a small bobby pin. You were pretty good at unpicking the lock to the door, since you always sat on the roof to think. You put the bobby pin into the lock and began to twist it, until you heard a click. You grasped the doorknob and slowly turned it. Once you opened the door, cold air flowed into your face, making the cuts and bruises burn. You flinched and began to walk to the edge of the roof. You looked down and noticed the blonde girl from class looking up at you. Horror filled her face as she ran into the building screaming. You smiled and sat at the edge. "Maybe I can wait a bit." You lay back and look at the sky. "I want to take in my last beautiful day."
You opened your eyes, realizing that you must have fallen asleep. It wasn't for long though, because the sun looked to be in the same spot. You stood and looked down, staring at the terrified crowd below. Many firemen, police and ambulances were parked around the school building and you could see your mother and father in the front of the crowd. It didn't matter though. You knew that nobody down there really cared about you. Them being here was just an excuse to drag them away from their boring lives. You heard a bang at the door you walked onto the roof from, and smiled. "It's locked! They don't have a key!" You told whoever was trying to come through. The banging ceased and you continued to think. All your pain and suffering was coming back. Every horrible thing anyone had ever said to you repeated in your mind, but one memory seemed to etch its way into your thought and made you break down into tears. You crouched and closed your eyes. "Mom! Dad! St-" You grasped your head. "Please no!"
As you looked around, you noticed you were back. Not at Toriel and Asgore's house, but the place you tried so hard to forget. Your real mother and father were fighting as always and, as usual, you didn't care. They fought every day, grabbing bats and glass bottles. They always were sent to the hospital from loss of blood, concussions, and sometimes, they even beat you. After a while, their abuse stopped hurting and you became heartless. You didn't care about anything or anyone. One cold Autumn night, your mother barged into your room with a dull rusty knife, and began to slice your arm. You didn't scream or cry, it hurt a lot, but you didn't care. She dropped the knife and walked out screaming your father's name. While walking out she grabbed scissors from your desk. You walked out into the bathroom and began to wash your cuts with rubbing alcohol before bandaging them up. You were about to go take the knife downstairs, when you heard two loud bangs coming from the living room. You grabbed the rusty knife and ran down the stairs, seeing your father with a gun, which was oozing with grey smoke. You looked down to see your mother's lifeless body, which was oozing red liquid. At that moment, you felt as if you no longer had any control over your body and you stabbed the knife into the man's chest. It was as if a demon inside finally awoken and you couldn't do anything, but watch. You repeatedly stabbed him in the face, and blood began to splatter all over the room. You began to laugh like a sociopath until you had control over your body again. Dropping the knife, you ran as far away as possible, until you bumped into two monsters. You fell back and looked at the two. "My child! You are covered in blood." You stared at them. They were both white goat-like monsters, and their eyes were soft and kind, nothing like what you were used to. "Are you okay?" The taller one asked you. Nobody had ever cared about you to ask if you were okay. It confused you, but made you feel happy. You hugged the shorter one and began to cry. "I'm so sorry! It wasn't really me!"
You opened your eyes and realized you were back on the roof of the building. "I've brutally murdered someone. I don't deserve kindness. I don't deserve to live." You heard the door behind you slam open, and you immediately jumped off the roof. You didn't bother to see who the person was, and frankly, you didn't even care. As you closed your eyes and waited for the impact you realized it was taking a little too long. "What the-" You opened your eyes to see blue flames around you. The flames were pulling you up, and it slowly placed you into someone's arms. They embraced you and you felt warm. "Look (Y/N)." You remembered the voice and began to cry. It was Sans. He did come back. "I don't care what you did in your past. All I care about now is what you will do with your future. You deserve to live! You are kind and sweet and considerate and..." He turned your head, forcing you to stare at his soaking eye sockets. "I need you. Without you I don't know what I would do!" You hugged the skeleton and he began to cry on your shoulder. You began to sob as well and he fell to his knees, you still in his arms. "I t-thought you hated me. I-I thought that I-I would never see you again." You said before crying more. Sans stared into your eyes. "I know. I'm sorry." He wiped away your tears. "T-Then everyone jus-" Sans stopped you by kissing your cheek, which made your face turn as crimson as the blood trickling down your face. Everyone began to cheer, and your monster parents embraced both you and Sans. "Sans promise me you won't ever leave me again." He looked at you, eyes wide and sighed. "I never make promises kid." You looked at him and began to tear up again. "But someone who sincerely likes bad jokes, has an integrity you can't say no to." He smiled and began to walk with you, and your parents back to your home.
