After the clock of the day struck 1, I knew it was time for me to head home.
"Here, I'll drive you," Thomas politely offered. I nodded and grabbed my bag and put it in his car. "Let's get a milkshake or something, yeah?" He asked, slightly turning up the radio.
"Yeah that sounds nice," I hum. He nods and I intake the soft sound of Truce playing against the agonizing sound of the tires against the road. I ignore all until it's just me and the music.
Stay alive, stay alive, for me.
Thomas didn't even realize that we reached the MilkShake shop until I pointed it out, due to being distracted.
"You almost missed the turn," I groan playfully. He shakes his head and chuckles.
"I was distracted," he mutters. I look at him and raise an eyebrow. "You sing nicely," he mumbles. I scoff and shake my head.
"Whatever. Yeah, thanks," I continue to shake my head. I never believed that I was good at singing. Due to former memories of people saying I'm "awful" and "will never make it anywhere" or "go back to the kitchen, that's where you belong".
"Seriously, maybe even better than our whole choir group," he sighs, pulling in an empty parking spot. I roll my eyes and get out of his car. He comes after me and we go in together.
Inside are a few people, not many that seem to pay any attention to anyone other than the person they're with.
I look to my right to see two girls before their lips connect, then to see them part with wide smiles. I smile to myself and look forward.
Thomas goes to the front counter and orders our favourites. I smile and take my drink and burger when it's done. He smiles and quickly pays before I could object.
"You know, I could've paid," I mumble before taking a sip of my milkshake. He rolls his eyes and smiles before doing the same. I playfully punch his shoulder before running over to an empty table by a window. I held my breath as I felt the overwhelming beauty stare right at me. "Thomas, w-what, what are your plans? For the future?"
"To make it that far at least," he chuckles.
"Then what? Do you want to achieve a dream career. Settle down, make a family?" I ask before take a bite from a fry. Thomas began to reveal a face of deep concentration.
"You know what I want? I want to live. I want to make an impact on this world. I want to inspire, to be loved. Maybe, even start a family, with a girl. Settle down with her a while, have two or three kids," he begins to smile as if imagining it all. Then I began to think of me as that girl. The one he marries. Starts a family with. The one he will come home to. The one that'll help him make pancakes whilst still in our underwear.
I begin to gingerly smile to myself. "What about you? Dreams? Ambitions? Family?" He asked curiously. I shake my head shyly and shrug my shoulders.
"I don't know. I will probably never be loved by a man. So I don't think towards it. I'll just go wherever I'm lead I guess. And I'm not really fond with children, they never seem to like me," I joke. He rolls his eyes and smiles.
"Any guy would be lucky to have you." Then why don't YOU take me. "You'll have kids with the guy you love." YOU. That guy is YOU.
I give him a small smile before realizing all my food and 3/4 of my drink were already filling my stomach. I then quietly excused myself before taking my food to the trash can.
He followed a few seconds after. He handed me my shake and led me outside back to his car. The car ride was silent aside from the sound of Twenty Øne Piløts filling the absence of conversation.
About twenty minutes later, I was home. He dropped me off and I thanked him with the nod of my head. I grabbed my things and went inside.
SORRY FOR SHORT CHAPTER! I've been grounded for a month and just all-round busy. But I got big news. I'm meeting Dan and Phil!! Yay. But yeah, anyways. Um. Bye.
