I reached out of the shower, grabbing a towel and putting it around me before coming out od the shower completely. My hair wet and the bathroom steamy and moist. I had been in the shower for close to fifty minutes. I wiped the condensation off the mirror to see myself. I felt clean for once! I then brushed my teeth and left my wet hair down. I quickly changed into new clean clothes, I now wear knee high shorts, a T-shirt with a tank top under and combat boots with fresh clean socks... And as always a collar, but this is one of the new ones James got me. I hang my towel to dry on the rack and submerge from the steamy bathroom into my room, where I find Skyler and Katie (who had come over from next door) painting her nails.
"Your painting you nails? Really?" I asked trying not to laugh.
"Yeah why not? I found some in the bathroom cabinet!" Skyler smiled showing me her now periwinkle nails.
"Periwinkle... It's a nice color on you" I tease.
She laughs softly.
"Hey Katie" I comment as I look at myself in the mirror in our bedroom.
"Hey Alex... You like?" She asks showing me her pink nails.
I nod with a small smile.
"Want me to do yours?" Katie asks.
"No thanks I'm good" I smile.
"Oh comon' Alex" Skyler says leaning her head back.
"Really I'm good" I smirk.
I then take a deep breath and go back into the steamy bathroom, looking in the cabinet... Inside there's a first aid kit, nail polish, lotion, two hair brushes, face soap, tooth paste,the other toothbrush for Skyler, and extra shampoo and conditioner. I take out a hair brush and walk back out. I look in the non-steamed up mirror and brush my hair, getting the tangles and things out. After a few minutes I sigh, feeling my hair is the best it's been in a year. I leave my hair down and look at the time seeing it's already 5:19.
"Skyler, Katie, get ready, we leave in ten to go next door... We are all meeting there before dinner" I say softly before going pack into the bathroom to put my hair brush away.
"Okay" Katie said getting up along with Skyler.
"So Katie, your room connects to ours with this door, right?" I ask gesturing to the door near the dresser on the far all.
"Yep" She smiled.
"Cool" I say plainly.
After a few minutes of Skyler and Katie getting ready and talking it's 5:27.
"Alright, we ready?" I ask standing and walking towards the door.
"Yeah" Skyler says "I'm starving" She continues.
"Same here... I haven't eaten since... Yesterday morning... I think..." I comment as I put my key in my pocket and open the door.
"Yeah I'm really hungry" Katie groans as we walk four feet across the hall.
As we reach the door we stop, I step forward slightly. I then proceed to knock on the door. A few seconds later Nolen answers.
"Hey guys" Nolen says softly, leaning against the door frame.
"Hey Nolen" Katie comments.
"Comon' in I guess" He says moving away from the door and opening it further.
"Feels weird doesn't it? Coming over... Because we're neighbors" I smile as we walk in.
"Yeah I know" Skyler smiles.
