I laid on my bed, staring up at the ceiling, I was exhausted. Why you may ask? Because its 2am and I can't sleep. I woke up from a nightmare about Skyler. Skyler, oh Skyler. I still couldn't believe she was dead. I sighed deeply and put my hands on my face, my elbows up towards the ceiling. Moonbeams were pouring into my room from where the curtains on my window was open. It was a small gap, just enough to let some in, creating a streak across my bed.

I had recently come to the realization that I was completely mental... Rather insane. But I suppose in this world, everyone is now. Looking back on the past year and a half of my life, so much has happened. I used to be such a normal, quirky, home-schooled girl who hung out with her friends and had it SO easy... But now, I'm someone completely different. I am actually insane, but its only because I've had to adapt to the world we live in now... Everyone is a little insane now, some more then others.

Recently I've been thinking a lot about out 'long term' life here. Living here for the rest of our lives wouldn't be bad I suppose... If we're actually safe we could build a life, right? It had been a week and a half since Katie got out of the hospital and she was doing better now... I took a deep breath and removed the hands from my face. I turned over onto my side and closed my eyes, praying for sleep to come. My mind then drifted to how many we had lost... Skyler, Hailey, Charlie, Ashton... All of them. If I had a dollar for each time I thought James died... Oh gosh...

And with that, I managed to drift to sleep.

"ALEX!!!" I heard loud knocking at my door that was far too loud for my liking. "ALEX! OPEN THE DOOR!" The knocking was coming from the divider door where Katie's room was... Not to mention it sounded like Katie's voice.

I realized the blankets were half off of me and I was hanging half off the bed... I sighed, lifting my head off the pillow just to see the time, '8:47am'. I let out a soft groan and plopped my face into the pillow.

"ALEX" She yelled again.

"GO AWAY I WANNA SLEEP" I yelled, muffled into my pillow.

I heard a click and suddenly, a certain blonde waltzed into my room, sticking the stolen key back into his pocket. Closing the door behind him with his foot, "Morning Sunshine" He smirked and leaned against the dresser.

"Don't you knock anymore?" I asked, my face still buried into the pillow.

I didn't see it do to my face in the pillow, but he simply shrugged.

I lifted my head to look at him, "What if I was indecent... You just waltz right in here like you own the place... Jeez James.." I sighed, putting my head back into the pillow.

"ALEEEEX I HEAR YOU IN THERE!!!" Katie yelled, banging on the door again.

"ONLY BECAUSE SOMEONE JUST LET THEMSELVES IN" I yelled back, taking my head off the pillow again.

"ITS IMPORTANT!" She growled.

I huffed loudly and got up, "Mghhh Coooolllldddd" I ran past James and opening the door for Katie. She walked in absolutely beaming. I then darted back for my bed, sitting Indian-style and wrapping the covers around my up to my neck.

James chuckled softly and Katie turned to him, "You, out!" She demanded.

"Why? What did I do?!" He asked protesting against her orders.

"Because I said so" She huffed, she was so bossy but short and sort of adorable, so she got away with it.

"Just go, I'll get you when she's done" I said to James.

He sighed, "Fine" he groaned and walked out of the room, closing the door behind him.

I then looked to Katie who was now bouncing up and down with a HUGE grin on her face.
