Chapter 15

"Any reason you wanted me to install this program today, of all days?"

I had gone straight over to Andrews house after school to get it over with. After study hall Brandon walked me to my next class instead of Andrew and along the way he was asking about us. Giving subtle hints but never actually directly asking about us.

 On the way to Andrews house I wanted to tell him about what had been happening with Brandon and me but I feel he wouldn't approve of it and I didn't want that. I know I would tell him soon, just not now.

"was today a bad day to ask?" He asks with a hint of teasing in his voice.

Maybe he didn't want me to go out with Brandon which already meant he didn't like him but I think I've known this for a while. I just roll my eyes and finish up on his laptop before handing it back to him.

"Here you go, you can be more of a geek at home now." I laugh at my own attempt of a joke.

"hey, be careful what you say. with this program I can design my own secret underground basement to keep you in where no one will find you." He tries to scare me and pinches me in the side. this causes me to scream and laugh, I get up and grab a pillow and throw it to his face.

he easily catches it and laughs it off. "want to stay for a bit and make a cake or something."

"Or something? Sounds amazing but I have plans to make. You know, stuff and thangs." I wink at him hoping he gets my bad reference from the walking dead. He's a bit slow but soon says 'OOHH' and laughs.

"Maybe you can come over and see Oreo again. He sure did miss you. Surprisingly."

"He loves me more than you, you just wont let me see him." he crosses his arms and turns his back on me which gives me a chance to try and leave.

"OKAY IM LEAVING ILL SEE YOU LATER BYEEE!" I scream as I run down the stairs to my car so he wont keep me here any longer. I love spending time with him but I really have to make plans with Brandon to see where this whole thing will go.

I've never officially had a boyfriend. I've had my first kiss but that was with a two week fling that happened during the summer. We never gave ourselves the tittle of a couple and after a few make out sessions he dropped me and we never talked again.

So when a guy shows a little interest in me I try not to get so attached or hung up on them, but I cant help it. It's all so exciting and new and I want to experience it all. even if the experiences include heart break.

I get in my car and plug in my headphones to my phone so I can call Brandon while I'm driving. I turn down the radio, clear my throat, and click dial. I hear the ringing for a good 30 seconds before Brandon answers.

"Hello?" He sounds like he's been running because he's breathing heavy into the receiver and there's wind in the background.

"Hey!" don't scream into his ear. "Hey. its Emily."

"yeah, hey, whats up?"

I clam up for a second thinking he would bring up the date idea on his own but I'm left with the decision to bring it up myself or wait to see if he will. I go with the best choice.

"I was wondering if you wanted to go out this weekend? If you're not doing anything."  

I hold my breathe for a second thinking maybe this wasn't a good idea. He wouldn't want to go out with me. Would he?

"You beat me to the punch line there Emily, but yes i'd love to go out with you this weekend. Why don't you let me plan everything tonight and i'll text you the details in the morning. Is that okay?" 

yes that's perfect because I didn't even have anything planned. 

"yea sounds great let me know tomorrow then. Have fun finishing your run." 

"how'd you know I was running?  Are you somewhere here at the park?" he laughs so I take it as a joke and laugh too. 

"ha um no I just heard you were out of breathe and the wind in the receiver." 

"ah gotacha. well thank you. have a good night." 

"You too Brandon." 

my cheeks are hurting by the end of the call from the big grin on my face. I take the headphones off and do a little happy squeal in the car and proceed to listen to some music from my happy playlist.

I'm going on a date with Brandon.
