Forgotten Memories (Book Three of 'Forget Me')

Chapter 9: Desperation

"Damn, damn, damn it!" Beast Boy yelled out his frustration. Not only was the Tower damaged, but those bastards had taken her.

Suddenly a portal opened, and out came an angry As'bel. His silver eye was now just red like his left eye, and you could see veins straining against his skin out of anger. "I thought I told you to keep her safe. I was starting to gather the ingredients from the room to come her, but I saw her being hauled away. Do you understand what you just let them do? If Shayde and Rachel have intercourse and produce an offspring, that baby will be nothing but pure evil."

"W-We tried! But they got her and put a red energy beam around us. We couldn't get out until Nathan shapeshifted and used Raven's powers to break it down." Nightwing said as he tended to Starfire's injuries.

"That all aside, we have to hurry and get to Pryedge, if the prince gets to Rachel, without a doubt, the first thing he'll want to do is-"

"Then let's hurry the hell up." Beast Boy growled knowing what was about to be said. "There's no way I'm letting that guy touch her."

As'bel nodded and started turned away from them. Closing his eyes and quietly chanting some words.

"Are the rest of you okay? We're going to the enemy and we have no prior knowledge of this land or the layout of that world. So I need all of you to be able to fight." Nightwing started to inform his team.

"We're coming too. Raven's our friend too. We won't let her be hurt." Nathan said back in his original form. Jason stood next to him, agreeing with his words.

Nightwing looked away from them, but nodded his consent, "Yeah, I wouldn't want it any other way."

Jason grinned and that's when a portal opened in front of As'bel. Everyone smiled knowingly. Without exchanging words, they already knew what to do.

"Let's go get our Raven."

Two sets of scars were wrapped around my body. From a blonde girl with glowing yellow eyes. Terra. An older version of Beast Boy died right in front of my eyes. I couldn't do a single thing. I was being hunted by Henry, being forced to marry him. I nearly died because of him. But I was saved. Saved by my friends... By Beast Boy, my boyfriend. They always saved me. Why was I weak? Why couldn't I save myself? Why? Why? Why am I so useless? I was taken away, and I hurt them. I don't deserve them. Any of them. Especially not Beast Boy's love. I-I am nothing. I deserve none of the care and concern they give me. I'm just a demon that deserves to be put down. I put my 'friends' in constant danger. I don't deserve to live!

Raven felt the tears falling down her cheeks. She could also feel metal chains wrapped securely around her wrists and ankles. She wasn't sure what had happened, but her body ached, and her head felt like it was going to explode.

She gasped when she felt a cold hand wipe at her cheek. She forced her eyes open, but saw nothing but darkness. She didn't feel anything covering her eyes, but why couldn't she see then.

"Raven?" a voice called out.

Beast Boy. He was here. But why was his hand so cold...

"Raven? You love me, don't you?"

Raven couldn't help but to nod, because she knew now that she did. She loved him with all her heart. No one in the world could ever break her love for him. 

"You remember now, don't you?" 

She nodded again. She did remember. She remembered everything. But she couldn't forgive herself for what she had done. What she had said to her friends. She could remember the looks of despair as she spoke words of their terrible pasts. More tears spilled out.
