Dear Journal,

Unfortunately, I'm still sick, but feeling a bit better to be able to write today's journal. I can hear the TV downstairs, I'm guessing the news is on and there has been a natural disaster because my mom usually is cooking in the kitchen and turns the volume of the TV up so she can hear over the stove's loud noise. Just as I walk down, I see my brother and dad passed out sleeping on the ground right next to the TV. It's amazing how they can be so sound asleep while the TV is really loud and RIGHT BESIDE YOU. I also wonder why they slept in the living room instead of their cozy beds. I'm walking to the kitchen to get some homemade delicious soup my mom made specifically made for me, I walk right past her to become surprised she ignored me. She was gasping and staring out the kitchen, I'm guessing at the TV. I grab a bowl of soup from the chilling refrigerator, and heat it up in the microwave. I used my sweater to cover my hands and carried to the bowl to the living room, since the bowl was steaming hot. I finally noticed what was on the TV, which was a broadcaster talking and showing a few videos of a hurricane that just ended a few minutes ago. I saw some buildings utterly destroyed, others slightly damaged, cars wrecked, and the streets filled with water with debris. Crazy, but soon to be a normal boring day.
