Finally, after waking bright and early 4 hours before the average human ever should, I was here.

"Welcome to Red River Drum and Auxiliary camp" which meant, "Heaven!" To me.  I've been dreaming about this camp for years, I've never been so ecstatic in my life to burn to death nearly every day.

In the first 20 minutes I had already met some key characters to my life.  Jae and Kevin, the two I loved instantaneously.  I swear, two of the most talented musicians I've ever met.  Anyways, I did my audition which I thought I rocked, and just chilled till afternoon.  I got my results and was placed in the top of line 5.  I was so proud, probably the most proud person in existence at the time.  In the afternoon classes I soon realized, this was my calling.  I loved it.  I loved every second of every tap of the drum.  I'd never been so happy.

The rest of the day kinda flashed.  We sat in this mile and a half line to get some of the best cake in existence and watered down Cool Aid.  I constantly keep this quirky smile broad on my face, kind of makes me understand why people didn't interact with me.  I was a young, and to my knowledge, the weirdest.  None of my friends complained though, they thought I was just the coolest little dime.

That night was fun, we had to play these lawn games that resulted in about 250 tires teens ready for bed, little did I know.. My life changing experiences hadn't even started! It was my first night..
