"Speak to people on their level..."
Rafii' Ibn Amr Attai was a bedouin theif who asked Abu bakr RA to teach him something that would make him be more like Abu Bakr because he liked his character.
Rafii asked him to make it somthing very simple because that was his mentality.
Abu bakr told him can u remember that ur hand has 5 fingers? He said yes, so Abu Bakr proceeded to tell him of the 5 pillars of islam. Then he said can u rememebr this? he said yes.

Lesson from this conversation.
"Speak to people according to their level.
This is a theif, he didn't go to school and has no education background, don't give him Bukhari and tell him to memorize it. Don't tell him to go sharia course for a few years and study ilm, people have different capabilities, not everyone will become a great scholar or imam.
He could barely remember the 5 fingers. So with gangstas and brothers from that background, teach them, take it easy with them. And alhamdulillah some of these brothers turn out to be wonderful brothers when Allah guides them to the truth. The spirit that they have is sometimes a spirit that u cannot find with a scholar. It happens. That is a rizq from Allah."
