It had been three days since I awoke from my hyper sleep, and the lab technician I now know as Lewis Solomon Damian, I call him Lewis. My name is Android 11-3-13, but he calls me Kam, from the numerical translation from my numbers. We have been preparing me for a test run in the outside world, known as outside. While he has been gathering clothes and other things, I have been reading a book called "My life with a Secret" a mystery book about a woman living with a serial killer and is trying to cope. I was far into the book I barely heard Lewis calling to me.
"Kam?"
I looked up and he was holding a box, I looked at him and the box from head to toe. I didn't understand the use of the box until he opened it. It had fluffy clothes and scarves within.
"Here, found some clothes for you...are you able to dress yourself?"
I nodded and set my book down; hopping off the seat I picked up the box and followed him to a room.
"You can change in here, let me know if you need help okay?"
I thought he was asking so many questions because he wanted me to respond, verbally.
"Okay, thank you Lewis."
We smiled at each other and I headed into the room. Setting the box down I gently closed the door and began to strip. I noticed some of my skin wasn't there, just metal. This not only set off alarms in my head, but a feeling of sadness. Regardless I began to put the blue jeans and long sleeve sweater on, I found a long striped scarf and wrapped it around my neck loosely, finally I slipped on the fluffiest socks I've ever felt, which was the only ones I've felt. Then I noticed I had no shoes I the box, walking towards the door I stopped at the lit mirror. It was the first time I saw myself... My red hair fell down my shoulders and stopped just above my chest. My face was void of imperfections, and my eyes a dark chocolate. I was shorter than Lewis and more curved hips.
"So this...is me?"
I asked myself with no real intention of answering. Of course this was me, I am this. I am Kam. Walking out of the room I quickly found Lewis, it wasn't hard since he was a few feet from the door. As I walked he noticed and stood up.
"Hey did everything go-"
He stopped mid-sentence and looked me up and down, I was slightly confused but I just shook it off to get back to the matter at hand.
"There were no shoes in the box"
He chuckled.
"Yeah, sorry about that, here you go"
He handed me a pair of brown flats to which I tried to put them on, I used him as a balancing point and slipped them on. I was now ready for the outside world.
" Okay, when we head to the book store you'll need to stay close to me."
I nodded and followed him to the door, after unlocking and opening the door, he side stepped for me to exit first. I stepped outside, and the door closed behind me.
