We all love those good stories where the hero always wins. He or she is usually at the top of the world and beloved by all. No villain seems to be able to stop the hero and the people love it. Then theres that one villain that almost succeeds, but the hero wins anyways. All because he believed in himself. The innocent people live happily ever after and the hero get the girl and the love of everyone.
This is not one of those hero stories. No my friend, this is nowhere near the fairy tale hero stories that has been forced on the masses for a very long time now. This is something different. Something that I hope will make you question how heroes and villains are perceived.
A major staple in hero backstories is a traumatic childhood. A negative event that changes the course of the heroes life and makes them want to fight crime or face their demons. Either way, they will end up trying to fight for justice. Think I’m joking? Batman, Thor, Ironman, Spiderman, Captain Marvel, etc. These are the examples that back me up. And please do not get me started on the “It was a science experiment gone wrong” backstory.
I could bore you for hours on the mainstream rules of creating hero but why bother? Rules are meant to be broken. Unless they become a zombie, if someone dies, they stay dead. No one is a genius with some high IQ that allows them to build a suite. No secret identities or love interest because we all know how those end. And for the love of that is holy, enough of the tights! It’s 2013, the tights are not cool anymore!
Now that I got my rant out of the way, please enjoy my approach on superheroes and villains.
